Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: Guide to Get Blaze Breed Tauros

One of the most exciting parts about any new generation Pokemon game are regional Pokemon – most with version-specific variants found within each game.

Generation 9’s Pokemon Scarlet and Violet gives 2 Pokemon their Paldean forms: Wooper and Tauros.

The Paldean Tauros comes in 3 breeds: the Combat Breed, the Aqua Breed, and the Blaze Breed, the latter two being game-exclusive.

The Aqua Breed Paldean Tauros can be found in Pokemon Violet and the Blaze Breed Paldean Tauros can be found in Pokemon Scarlet.

If you’ve bought Pokemon Scarlet and are looking for this rare Blaze Breed, this article is for you.

Blaze Breed Paldean Taurus – Appearance, Typing, Ability, Stats

The Blaze Breed or Fire Breed Tauros is a Pokemon Scarlet exclusive Generation 9 Pokemon. It is a Fighting-Fire-type Wild Bull, which has red specks in its mane and also horns that glow red when its angry.

The base Combat Breed Paldean Tauros, which can be found in both versions (Scarlet as well as Violet) is fully brownish grey in color, so Blaze Tauros is not hard to spot among them.

(It is hard to find, though, so read on to know where you can encounter it.)

The Blaze Breed Tauros, like the other two breeds, has the Intimidate and Anger Point Abilities and the Cud Chew and Sheer Force Hidden Abilities.

According to its in-game description this Blaze Breed Wild Bull, when heated by fire energy, can heat its horns to over 1800 degrees Fahrenheit, and can burn and impale its target in equal measure.

Blaze Tauros is resistant to the Bug, Steel, Fire, Grass, Ice, and Dark types but weak to Flying, Ground, Water, and Psychic typing.

It has a total stat of 490, peaking with an Attack stat of 110, Defense of 105, and Speed of 100.

When you catch it, the Blaze Breed Tauros will be a level 29 in most cases.

Where to find Blaze Breed Paldean Tauros?

The Paldean Tauros Blaze Breed can be found in 2 places in the Pokemon Scarlet: the open meadow near Porto Marinada in the far left of the map, i.e., the West Province (Area 2), and in the vast areas near the lighthouse in the East Province (Area 2).

If you go to your Pokedex and click the plus sign, you’ll see that the Paldean Tauros lives in grassy areas and is very rarely seen. The yellow areas mark where you can potentially find your Blaze Tauros.

How to Encounter and Catch a Blaze Breed Tauros?

The easiest way to catch your Paldean Blaze Breed Tauros is to go to the Pokemon Center at Porto Marinada, and run east, staying south of the Lake.

To increase your chances of encountering this Blaze Breed, eat a Mapo Tofu sandwich from the Jade Palace Garden in the Cascarrafa.

The Blaze Breed typically hangs out with 4 other normal Tauros. If you find a lone Tauros, it’s most probably not going to be a version or region-specific Tauros.

Some players have noted that sometimes you can find a Tauros on its own but it looks like a Blaze Breed (it has the red markings in its fur). But when you try to approach, it will turn into a Ditto.

The sure-shot way to know you have a Blaze Tauros is to see whether it is in a group of 5.

So, go eat a sandwich and keep looking for Tauros herds, and you’ll bump into a Blaze spawn soon enough.

Can I get a Blaze Breed Tauros if I have Pokemon Violet?

You can get the Blaze Breed in Pokemon Violet if you join a Union Circle and trade, or by playing Multiplayer.

Pokemon Violet’s version-exclusive Paldean Tauros is the Aqua Breed, which is equally as cool as Blaze. The water-type Aqua Turos is blue in color. It can be found in the East and West Provinces of Area 2, just like the Blaze Breed.
