‘Play It Cool, Guys’ New Character Promo Video Highlights Motoharu Igarashi
On January 8, the official website for the television anime adaptation of Kokone Nata’s Play It Cool, Guys manga released a new character promotional video key visual that highlight Motoharu Igarashi, played by Makoto Furukawa.
Additionally, the website released a non-credit version video of the second cours’ opening theme song “Warau na!” by songwriter and producer syudou. The ending theme song “Taisetsu” is performed by the voice actors of four of the main protagonists, Chiaki Kobayashi, Kouki Uchiyama, Yuichiro Umehara, and Shōya Chiba.
The anime’s previous cour aired on TV Tokyo on October 10. Additionally, Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs.
The anime is directed by Chiaki Kon at Studio Pierrot. Makato Ueza oversees the series scripts and Airi Taguchi is the character designer and chief animation director. The music for the series is composed by Masato Nakayama.
The plot of the anime revolves around a group of guys who believe they are extremely cool and have an unapproachable swag. In reality, they are a bunch of dorks who are constantly trying to seem cooler than they really are.
The anime follows these guys in their day to day life and shows them get up to various different kinds of adventures trying to look cool, but ending up seeming awkward and goofy.
The second cour of the series began airing on January 9.
The Play It Cool, Guys manga was first launched in June 2019 on the Gangan pixiv website and is currently ongoing. The manga ranked sixteenth in the 2020 edition of Takarajimasha‘s Kono Manga ga Sugoi! guidebook for its female readers list.
