Players should choose to accept the past when given the option during the Penance side quest in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. This wraps up the side quest with the player accepting the past and moving on from it.

If you choose to confront the past, you will agree with Ri’nela saying that Alma’s actions can’t be forgiven, which will end the quest. Regardless of whichever option you choose, it will wrap up the side quest with no major impact on the story.

2. When does the Penance side quest start?

The Penance side quest starts automatically after players have completed the main story mission Revelations. Ri’nela will ask the players to meet with her outside the east entrance of the Resistance Hideout to lay Alma’s avatar to rest.

Here you’ll be presented with the options to either accept or confront the past. The option will affect the speech that N’avi gives after the quest ends. There’s no major impact on the story, regardless of the option you choose.

3. How to complete the ‘Revelations’ main quest?

Revelations is the twenty-seventh chapter in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. This main quest deals with uncovering the truth behind Sarentu’s death, leading to unearthing a deeper revelation. Here’s what you need to do to complete this quest:

I. Talk to Okul

The first objective of this quest requires you to talk to Okul at The Commons. After declining his invitation to stay with the Kame tribe, you’ll be on your way back to your friends at the Resistance.  Before you do, Okul will let you talk with Anufi.

II. Talk to Anufi

Head to the Circle of Ancestors to talk with Anufi, who’ll advise you to hunt the Meer Deer before continuing the mission. Hunting this deer will enable Anufi to make a medical ointment with its fat.

III. Hunt for the Meer Deer

The Meer Deer is located within the White Moss Forest of the Clouded Forest. They are seldom found in herds and you’ll be able to locate them through your senses.

It is advised to keep your distance from them and use a bow and arrow to take them down as they are easily frightened. Keeping your distance from them will ensure that they don’t run away after sensing danger.

IV. Return to Anufi at the Resistance Hideout

Once you’ve obtained the required materials from the Meer Deer, meet with Anufi in the Medical Bay at the Resistance Hideout. Giving her the deer meat will trigger a cutscene, which results in Alma’s N’avi body dying. This happens due to Anufi recognizing her as the person whom Mokasa talked to about the Sarentu’s location, which infuriates Ri’nela and Nor, leading to him stabbing Alma.

Before dying, Alma promises to show everyone the truth. Connected to the Eywa where she recollects her memories, you move through her memories to find out what happened to the Sarentu.

After that, Alma will inform you that she has lost connection to the Eywa as her N’avi body has perished. Ri’nela decides to bury her body as per tradition, leading to the Penance side quest.

This ends the Revelations quest. You receive Clearing The Mist achievement along with 3 additional skill points as your reward.
