Episode 7 of “Pachinko’s” second season is now available on Apple TV+. It previously displayed how old Sunja and Kato-san were becoming increasingly friends. Concerned for his mother’s welfare, Mozasu investigated Kato-san’s past during that time. The basis of Solomon and Naomi’s relationship was rocked when he discovered an astonishing truth about her.
In the 1950s, Noa declined a spot at Waseda University due to financial concerns but later decided to pursue his education. In “Pachinko” Season 2 Episode 7, Noa prepares to travel to Tokyo for his studies, an unexpected update about his daughter’s wedding is given to Hansu, and Chang-ho reflects on his life decisions.
Pachinko Season 2 Episode 7 ‘Chapter Fifteen’ Recap
Noa was admitted to Waseda University in Tokyo in 1951 to continue her education. Sunja’s family, who had endured much, was happy. We watch them rejoicing in this young prodigy’s accomplishments.
The locals congratulate Noa after the family’s women share their happiness. As he ages, Mozasu begins to live like a teenager. As political unrest increases, Kim Chang-ho considers his future. He cannot decide whether to live for his roots or his love.
In Yoseb’s presence, Chang-ho cannot be romantically involved with Kyunghee . Thus, he begins to consider alternative paths for his future. Before Noa departs on his journey, Hansu meets him at that point. Hansu presents a worn-out watch as a lucky charm for the future.
Sunja remembers her history connected to it but doesn’t reveal it to Noa. Food and beverages strengthen family ties. Noa walks through their neighborhood and looks nostalgically at what he will miss before heading out. His clothes are packed in a suitcase by Sunja, Kyunghee, and Yangjin.
The Fate of Sunja’s Family
Mozasu shares with Noa his intention to relocate to America to begin a new life. He believes it will allow him to start over, away from what his family and the public are familiar with. Later, Yosef joins others for dinner and complains about Kyunghee’s cooking.
It annoys Mozasu and Noa, who confront him for not leaving the house in months due to his scarred face and for putting their unreasonable expectations on other people. They want him to embrace the truth about his traumatic past rather than continue to live in the shadows of it. Yoseb is forced to accept the reality of his current life by their direct reply.
Hansu later meets Hiroaki Murakami, his father-in-law, who had been preparing to marry Hansu’s daughter to a politician. To protect the party’s future, he now prohibits Hansu from going to his daughter’s wedding.
Hansu, who is devastated, talks with Sunja about their sons’ past, present, and future. He feels guilty for not making more of their precious time together. In addition, he talks candidly about his father-in-law’s deceit. Sunja advises him to stop thinking about the past and address the source of his unfavorable feelings.
The Future of Naomi
Naomi keeps up her hard work at the Shifleys. She encounters something startling at work one day. Tom Andrews constantly planning his successful departure from the company, discovers some information about Naomi. He makes use of it to make Naomi quit her work. She is fired for violating confidentiality despite years of hard work. To no avail, she begs the senior officer for another chance to make amends.
Tom informs his accomplice against Katsu Abe, Solomon, of Naomi’s departure as she is leaving. Naomi’s resignation pleases Tom and Solomon because it advances their objective. In addition to Solomon, Mamoru Yoshii, Solomon’s new business partner, is relieved to hear this news because Naomi will no longer threaten their enterprise.
What Happened to Sunja and Kato-san?
Sunja maintains her friendship with Kato-san, who gives her advice on indoor bonsai planting. He explains what plants require and how to care for them. It somehow prompts them to talk about their impending death. Sunja is concerned about Kato-san’s frequent remarks about how little time he or they have left.
He discusses the ongoing financial difficulties that people encounter. Though it doesn’t seem to be the case, their generation believed their struggles would lead to a better future. To live comfortably, Kato-san intends to return to his daughter’s home.
When Sunja learns about Kato-san’s financial struggles, she offers him a loan. Kato-san invites Sunja to his family’s house, but she neither accepts nor declines. Meanwhile, Mozasu discovers Kato-san’s difficult past as a war veteran and fears he may be taking advantage of Sunja’s kindness.

Noa says goodbye to his family and travels to Tokyo with Sunja. At Yosheda University, he receives special treatment because of Hansu. After Sunja leaves, Noa meets a female student who captures his heart.
Does Kyunghee choose Chang-ho to be her life partner?
Born in Osaka, Chang-ho muses over enlisting in the North’s armed forces. Hansu tries to dissuade him by talking sense into his ears. All Chang-ho can look forward to, though, is a life with Kyunghee since he has no hope of that. As Yoseb watches Chang-ho go, he boldly decides to do something.
He is tired of feeling sorry for himself or letting his feelings affect Kyunghee’s happiness. He thus consents to refrain from interfering with Yoseb and Kyunghee’s relationship should they pursue it. After hearing that, Chang-ho changes his mind about leaving for a little while. When he first meets Kyunghee, he tells her that they are compatible. She isn’t prepared for this reunion, though.
Shortly after Kyunghee’s kiss with Chang-ho in the past, Yoseb was attacked by Nagasaki. Even though it was an unrelated incident, she believes her betrayal was the cause. However, she won’t allow either man to choose her destiny. She thus decides against being with Chang-ho. In the interim, Hansu avenges his father-in-law by hiring a man to stab him to death in an attempt to establish his dominance.
