Otherside Picnic, written by Iori Miyazawa and illustrated by Shirakawa, is a sci-fi Japanese light novel series that revolves around Sorawo Kamikoshi and Toriko Nishina.
The two young women discover doors that lead to the “Otherside”, a world where creatures from your worst nightmares truly exist.
Square Enix’s Shonen Gangan magazine revealed in its October issue that Miyazawa’s series would be getting a TV anime adaptation.
The TV anime will be produced by Liden Films and Felix Film and was announced on March 5, 2020. Yumiri Hanamori will voice Sorawo Kamikoshi and Ai Kayano will voice Toriko Nishina.
According to the franchise’s official website and Twitter account, the science fiction series will begin in January 2021.
Fans were also ecstatic to see the series’ newly released trailer.
The trailer shows Sorawo’s first interaction with Toriko Nishina on the Otherside right after seeing an unknown creature and nearly dying.
The 2-minute video gives a sneak peek into the tale of two girls and their bizarre adventures for the sake of survival and so much more.
