Akane went through a lot of problems in this episode. She was about to give up on her life, but Aqua stopped her. Aqua really shined in this episode as he prepared a video to get Akane back on her feet. 

He, along with his friends, gather the necessary material and created a video about Akane that shuts up all the criticism she got. Akane decides to inherit Ai’s personality for the sake of the show, and she leaves Aqua speechless with her performance.

Akane will become Ai and will leave Aqua flustered in episode 8 of Oshi no Ko. 

It was a cute moment in the manga, seeing him getting embarrassed and creating a wholesome moment between Akane and him. Aqua will ask Kana to hang out and bunk school.

Akane is about to jump from a bridge, but Aqua catches her at the right time. He got there following Mem-Cho’s phone call. At Strawberry Productions, Kana and Ruby discuss Akane’s present mental state.

Kana gets depressed and pessimistic, ranting about what goes on behind reality shows and how many people who work on these shows commit suicide. 

Miyako gets a call informing her that Aqua has gotten into trouble with the police. In the station, Akane and her mother are being interrogated by an officer, and Akane bursts into tears. 

When they leave the room, Yuki rushes toward Akane and slaps her hard. She asks her why she didn’t talk to her. Aqua asks Akane whether she wants to leave the show, but she refuses. 

Aqua leaks the information about Akane’s suicide attempt to the police. He also decides to make a video on the show from the cast’s perspective. For that, he asks Mem-Cho to provide him with some photos and videos. 

He gets the other members on board as well. He talks with the director to get some raw footage. The director refuses as it was Akane’s decision to do all that. Aqua manages to convince the director to oblige. 

Everyone gets down to create the video. After a lot of work (all done by Aqua), they post the video, which gets popular. The video gets 74,000 retweets in just 24 hours, bringing Akane’s lost respect back and making their show more popular. 

Akane shows up at the set, announcing that she will return to shoots. Mem and Aqua suggest she play a character rather than show her real self. Mem asks Aqua his type.

Oshi no Ko is a supernatural crime-solving manga series written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump since April 2020 and received an anime adaptation in 2023.

The story follows a doctor, Goro, reincarnated as his favorite idol Ai’s kid. Ai names him Aquamarine and his twin sister, a reincarnation of a patient at the hospital, Ruby. Ai is later killed by a stalker who was also responsible for Goro’s death. As Aquamarine swears revenge on the stalker for his mother’s demise, Ruby follows the same path as her mother to become an idol.
