Oregairu or My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU is one of the best rom-com anime out there. Season 3 of the series ended in September 2020 with a bittersweet finale. However, fans still aren’t satisfied and hope for Season 4 to release soon.
Hachiman is a self-proclaimed loner and a pessimistic high schooler. After submitting an easy assignment, mocking modern social relationships, his teacher forces him to join the volunteering service club to punish his snarky attitude.
Yukino Yukinoshita, the club president, is given no other choice but to help Hachiman become more socially acceptable.
The story itself isn’t about Hachiman and Yui; rather, it narrates the problems faced by other students who come to the volunteering service club seeking help.
Season 3 builds up to the point when the members acknowledge their own problems and relationships before graduating high school.
1. Release Date
Season 4 of Oregairu is yet to be announced. We can expect it release by Summer or Autumn 2022. Season 3 also got delayed due to the COVID 19 Pandemic so, a delay for Season 4 is also expected.
Also, the light novel of Oregairu has ended, so the series is unlikely to renew. However, Season 3 was a massive success, and hence, it isn’t completely impossible that the anime would get a Season 4.
2. What To Expect From Season 4
There are a total of 14 volumes + 3 side volumes of Oregairu. Season 3 completely adapted the volumes 12-14. Season 4 will adapt the remaining three side volumes if the anime gets renewed.
Season 3 revolved around the graduation prom for third-year Students. Emotions poured into the preparations for the event.
Meanwhile, the Volunteer Service Club members start understanding each other better. And thus, Hachiman’s bittersweet high school life begins to draw to a close.
Season 4 would most likely give us glimpses of our favorite characters’ life after graduating high school.
3. About Oregairu
Written by Wataru Watari and illustrated by Ponkan8, this story was adapted into a manga thrice. It was picked up for an animated adaptation by Brain’s Base. It was still, however, animated by Feel Studio in its second season.
This anime is from the slice of life genre and features the story of a pragmatic, high schooler Hachiman Hikigaya.
He is forced to be a part of a Service Club by his teacher alongside Yukino Yukinoshita and Yui Yuigahama. Despite having wildly different personalities and beliefs, they offer help to those in need.
