One Piece Reveals Shinobu’s Reasons For Joining Kaido

Since the Yonkou saga began in One Piece, Kaido has been set up as the tyrant that Luffy has to bring down. Luffy is one of the many people who believe in Kozuki Oden /Momonosuke’s goal to take down the beast pirates and help make Momonosuke the shogun of Wano so that Wano’s borders can be opened up.

Recently Chapter 970, titled “Oden Vs. Kaido”, was released and it tells us why Shinobu joined Oden’s forces during the rebellion.

Shinobu was introduced in the Wano arc as a master spy and has been helping Momonosuke’s cause. She was initially introduced to the Kozuki clan at a young age and served under Lord Sukiyaki, Oden’s father.

By the time Oden returned from his voyage, she had turned into a full-fledged kunoichi. She tells Oden that she has been waiting for his return as she is loyal to the Kozuki clan and hates Orochi.

This, however, may be a ruse as the chapter also gives us reason to suspect that she may be Kaido’s spy lurking in Oden’s forces. Her reaction to Oden’s execution in Chapter 971 will confirm her allegiance.

About One Piece:
The man who had acquired everything in this world, the Pirate King, is Gol D. Roger. The final words he said at the execution tower were “My treasures? If you want it, I’ll let you have it. Look for it; I left all of it at that place.” These words sent many to the seas, chasing their dreams, headed toward the Grand Line, in search of One Piece. Thus began a new age!

Seeking to be the greatest pirate in the world, young Monkey D. Luffy also heads toward the Grand Line in search of One Piece. With his diverse crew joining him along the way, consisting of a swordsman, marksman, navigator, cook, doctor, archaeologist, and cyborg-shipwright, this will be one memorable adventure.
