The episode showed Yamato and Ace had crossed paths in the past, which led to them becoming friends. The Akazaya were made aware of Momonosuke’s upcoming execution, and they made their move to prevent it.
Luckily, the suspense was not for long, and Kaido elaborated on the New Onigashima Project.
We saw how Kaido and Big Mom stated that they are going after One Piece in the latest episode. Kaido also elaborated on the New Onigashima Project, which led to a conflict between Orochi and him.
It was also very satisfying to see Kanjuro face the consequences of betraying Oden and the Akazaya.

Episode 995 Speculations and Discussions
One Piece Episode 995 is titled “Raid! Inheriting Oden’s Will!”
Now Kaido has shown his true colors and made his intentions clear after beheading Orochi.
I’m sure no one is stupid enough to go against Kaido, especially now that he has allied with Big Mom.
Nonetheless, I don’t think that a despicable character like Orochi can go out so easily. It’s more like, I don’t want him to go out so easily. I hope that he gets a fitting death for all the pain he has caused the land of Wano.
We shall also get to see how Momonosuke escapes his execution because there is no way that he is getting executed while Luffy and the others are around.

Recap of Episode 994
Episode 994, titled “The Akazaya Face-off! Kikunojo vs. Kanjuro!” starts with Kaido getting agitated at Big Mom for showing up late.
They then announce that they will be moving forward seriously, and their goal is the ancient weapons and the One Piece.
Kaido also announces that he will completely turn Wano into a lawless area for pirates since it is a mighty stronghold.
Orochi does not accept this news well. He rebels against Kaido and tries to assert his dominance. Nonetheless, this does not end well for him as Kaido immediately resorts to beheading him.
Kaido then speaks to Orochi’s men and gives them the option of joining him or fighting him. He then walks up to Momonosuke and prepares to execute him.
Luffy realizes that Momonosuke’s life is in danger and rushes to his aid with Yamato.
Meanwhile, Kanjuro is going at it against the Akazaya. While everyone else is engaged in battle, Kanjuro and Kiku face each other.
Kiku is trying to gauge if Kanjuro was ever true with them. He wants to believe that it was not all an act, and Kanjuro did cherish his time with the others.
Basically, he was in denial as Kanjuro time and again proved that he did not feel guilty in any way.
Kiku then proceeds to finish him off, and the Akazaya prepare to invade Onigashima to avenge Oden and save the Land of Wano.
The episode ends with Yamato enraged at Kaido for forcing the title of the future shogun on her without her consent.
