One Piece Episode 1040 Release Date, Speculation, Watch Online

The Gifters began fighting for Otama in episode 1039, titled “A Dramatic Increase of Allies! Straw Hats Fight Back!!”

It was a dramatic change of events. We saw a major chunk of enemies suddenly siding with Otama, and they all started fighting the Beast Pirates. Sanji continued his fight with Queen, which I think will go on for pretty long.

The first half of these episodes are mostly wasted on recaps which hinder the pacing and amount of content covered in the episode. I hope the amount of recap gets boiled down so we can get more action.

Episode 1040 Speculations

Jinbei and Who’s-Who’s fight continues in episode 1040, titled “The Pride of a Helmsman? The Enraged Jinbei!.”

It looks like the next episode will mainly focus on their fight. We didn’t get a glimpse of anyone or anything else in the preview, so it’s hard to say whether Luffy will get back into the fight or not.

Who’s-Who’s entire problem is with Shanks. I still believe that the anime won’t get either Zoro or Luffy back into the battlefield anytime soon. We might get Luffy in an episode or two, but the pacing ensures that we won’t be getting what we want anytime soon.

Episode 1039 Recap

After Otama’s announcement, everyone who ate Kobi Dango starts to fight against the Animal Pirates. The Gifters start to side with Otama all around the castle.

Jinbe, Franky, and all the samurais are surprised by this sudden change in tide, but they decide to go along with it. Queen realizes it is all because of Otama and prepares to fire a huge beam at her.

Sanji kicks him on his head, causing his beam to blow inside his mouth. Queen transforms into his Man-Beast form. Sanji asks Chopper about Zoro’s health, but he is shocked to find Chopper shrank down as a side effect of the rumble balls.

Chopper doesn’t regret using the rumble ball, as he knew all this would happen. He thinks that Queen has still not shown a lot of his abilities. He turns towards Zoro, who is in a terrible situation.

Miyagi suggests a medicine that can heal any wound in no time, something that can be called a super healer. However, he may suffer twice as much as he does now. Zoro is still ready to take the drug and return to the battlefield.

Some pirates run after Otama to catch her. Nami stops to protect her, but Daifugo shows up and poisons the pirates. Horselina comes up and tells Otama to get on her back.

Gazelle runs up to them and tells Otama that he found Komachiyo. Jinbe and Who’s-Who continue their fight. Jinbe notices that his opponent’s fighting style is similar to World Government.

Jinbe recalls that an intelligence agent prisoner of CP9 escaped prison. Who’s-Who agrees to be that guy. He transforms into beast mode and recalls that thirteen years ago, a devil fruit got stolen from a government ship.

Two years ago, when Luffy rose to prominence, he discovered that Luffy had eaten the stolen Gum-Gum fruit.
