Momonosuke announces that Luffy is alive in episode 1036, titled “Fight Against the Dark Night! The Commander-in-chief of the Land of Wano Sounds Off!”
It was a rather slow episode. Not much happened in this episode. The news of Luffy’s defeat completely shatters Chopper, but Sanji helps him recover from his depression.
Marco also shows up after a long time. Kin’emon’s determination to protect Momonosuke is heart-touching, and the flashback adds salt to the injury. He still fails to do that, leaving all the hope to the Straw Hats.

Episode 1037 Speculations
Kid will face Big Mom in episode 1037, titled “Believe in Luffy! The Alliance’s Counterattack Begins!”
It looks like a lot will happen in the next episode. Luffy will continue with his sinking while Law will join Kid in his fight against Big Mom. The heroes will continue their fight against Kaido and his crew.
Momonosuke has inspired others to keep fighting, but I don’t think they will last for long. Kaido will reach Momonosuke, and now there is no one to stop him. We will have to wait till Luffy wakes up again.

Episode 1036 Recap
The news about Luffy falling into the sea has terribly upset the samurais. Chopper is really sad to hear the news, whereas Nami refuses to believe it. Luffy sinks even deeper into the sea.
While Luffy is drowning, Onigashima reaches the mainland of the Land of Wano. Sanji, Izou, and Kawamatsu keep on moving forward. Izou tells his soldiers not to give up yet, as Luffy’s death is not confirmed.
Chopper has turned completely hopeless after hearing the news. However, Queen insists he keeps fighting. Perospero fires a huge amount of arrows at all his enemies.
Chopper feels too defeated to get up and fight. Sanji shows up and kicks him Queen so hard that his neck starts spinning like a fan, and he absorbs all the arrows coming from above.
Sanji tells Chopper that he has done well till now. He hands Zoro to him and turns to fight Queen. Marco also shows up, praising Sanji for continuing to fight even after hearing about his captain.
Kaido brutally beats up Kin’emon, but he still stands up. He tells Kaido that he won’t let him get his hands on Momonosuke. We get a flashback where Kin’emon and Momonosuke, with others, have traveled to the future, i.e., the present day.
He insists that Momonosuke call him his father, or it will be trouble if everybody comes to know about Momo’s true identity. Kin’emon remembers the bond they developed as father and son.
He is terribly injured but still wants to fight Kaido to let Momo live. Kaido stabs Kin’emon, ending his life (maybe, I can’t be sure here). Momonosuke gets a flashback about a training session with Kin’emon where he tells Momo not to cry.
Momonosuke takes out Buo’s frog and announces to everyone that Luffy is talking to him and Luffy is alive. So he wants everyone to keep fighting till their last breath.
