Episode 1005 of One Piece, titled “An Inherited Technique! Unleashing Oden’s Secret Swordplay!” is the latest installment of the anime.
In this episode, the Akazaya finally performed the two-sword-style attack and sliced Kaidou. The technique they inherited from Oden was powerful but not enough to beat Kaidou. Luffy is still running to reach the Akazaya with Sanji and Jimbei’s help.
Meanwhile, the rest of the samurai and Straw Hats are being terrorized by Queen’s Ice Oni, but it seems like Chopper has had enough of this.

In the next episode, the Animal Kingdom pirates will try to turn the tables in their favor by sending their men to stop Luffy from getting to Kaidou.
Chopper stands up to stop the atrocities of Queen as his Ice Oni plague spreads further and infects hundreds.

Episode 1005 Recap
The episode begins with the Akazaya launching the two-sword-style attack on Kaidou. They manage to slash his neck, and as a result, the dragon falls down, lying unconscious.
Back at the castle, Zoro and Drake are attacked by the samurai turned Ice Oni. This plague has been spreading after Queen’s special bullets hit one of the samurai and turn him into an ice monster.
Both Zoro and Drake are reluctant to fight against their allies.
Meanwhile, Luffy continues to run towards Kaidou. He is stopped by Kaidou’s men, but Sanji rushes in to fight them off.
He asks Luffy to save his energy for his fight with Kaidou. They start running again but are attacked by Briscola, a headliner of the Animal Kingdom pirates.
He has an ax in one hand and a gorilla attached to another. He stands in their way, not wanting Luffy to get to Kaidou. He attacks Sanji with a gorilla punch and pushes him further. Just then, Jimbei arrives and hits Briscola using his water shot.
As Luffy and Sanji banter about who is going to fight the gorilla man, Jimbei already defeats him. Luffy and Sanji are impressed and continue heading towards Kaidou.
We then cut to the Flower Capital, the prosperous place in the land of Wano. Like the rest of Wano, the people of the Capital hide tensions and terror behind their smiles.
They still believed that someday, the Kozuki samurai would save their country as they all believed in such a seemingly true legend.
As the Fire Festival goes on, people reminiscence their fond memories of when Sukiyaki was still alive and Oden also lived among them. The people also discuss how the Kozuki clan must be in battle and must be slicing up Orochi and Kaidou at Onigashima.
Back to Kaidou vs. the Akazaya. Looking at Kaidou’s limp body makes them feel as if they’ve finally defeated him but, it’s not that easy to take him down.
They decide to cut his throat to decapitate him, but just as their attack begins again, Kaidou comes to life and challenges them once again.
