One Piece Chapter 985 DELAYED: Manga on One-Week Break

One Piece is a name that is known to all manga and anime fans. There is no way an otaku won’t know about Luffy and his straw hat pirate gang. With its popularity came an unquenchable thirst for the manga, which Oda has to satisfy.

Eiichiro Oda is both the writer and illustrator for One Piece, so no wonder the pressure is hard on him. Making his work into such a well-known series in itself is a feat, plus the fact that he has to meet regular deadlines is taking a toll on Oda’s health.

Chapter 985 of One Piece is on a break this week and will be published in the 33rd issue of Weekly Shonen Jump instead of the 32nd issue. The chapter is likely to be released on July 20.

Oda has frequently been taking breaks recently due to his health conditions. In previous interviews, Oda had revealed that he only slept for 3 hours a day, and he has kept that routine for 15 years. Although it didn’t affect him when he was young, as his age is advancing, all the years of neglect are showing signs now.

These breaks are taken so that he can concentrate on the manga quality more without putting his body through too much pressure. Fans are quite understanding of Oda and his reasons and want him to take things easy.
