The Circus and the Woman Named Ida

The real story begins 109 years in the past. A young Harald, wild and temperamental, attacks a town after seeing Ida, later revealed to be Hajrudin’s mother, working in a circus. He thinks she’s a prisoner. But Ida tells him she’s there willingly, repaying the townspeople who once saved her.

Harald is stunned. His assumptions fall apart, and this moment of humility starts changing him.

Love in Elbaf, But Not for All

But when Harald asks to marry her, the elders say no. She’s an outsider, and not of Elbaf blood. The elders choose another bride for him, Estridd. She’s obsessed with omens and believes deeply in ancient traditions.

Loki’s Birth and Abandonment

Estridd gives birth to Loki. But when she sees his narrow, cat-like eyes, she freaks out. Convinced it’s a bad omen; she throws the newborn into the Underworld beneath Elbaf.

The last panel of the chapter is haunting, baby Loki, crawling among fallen beasts in the dark, making his way toward the massive Adam Tree, trying to return to the surface.

Loki’s origin is brutal. Not a prince raised in splendor, but a discarded child clawing his way back from the abyss. And that makes him dangerous.
