Chapter 1046 of One Piece, titled “Raizo,” is the latest addition to the manga.
After Luffy’s powers have awakened, his fight with Kaidou has exceeded all boundaries of physical limits. However, an impending doom looms upon the island as it is engulfed in flames.
When Kaidou tells Luffy that his men are stuck on a burning Onigashima, he simply replies that he’s confident that they can take care of it on their own.
Following this, Raizo uses his Ninpo: Scroll-Scroll Jutsu to create a large tube of water and Jimbei uses it to put the fire out.
As the water starts putting out the fire, Onigashima becomes unstable due to Kaidou’s depleting power. Yamato tells Momonosuke that the only way to save the island is by creating flame clouds to keep it afloat.
Will Momonosuke finally conjure up enough clouds to save Onigashima? We’ll find out in the next chapter of One Piece.
1. Chapter 1047 Discussions and Predictions
Luffy vs. Kaidou will continue in the next chapter. The two are evenly matched, and even though the Straw Hat has awakened his devil fruit, Kaidou is still a commendable opponent.
Their fight will continue for a few more chapters until one of them is on the brink of death. We still haven’t received Kaidou’s backstory, which should happen before their battle concludes.
Another important thing to see is whether Momonosuke can create flame clouds strong enough to keep Onigashima floating. He has been avoiding the island situation for quite a while, and now it’s finally time for him to give everything he has to protect the people on Onigashima.

After Luffy’s powerful punch pushes Kaidou back, he is amazed to see the Straw Hat’s immense strength. Zunesha rejoices as she hears the Joyboy’s rhythm and expresses how she feels that fate itself is at work.
Kaidou asks his opponent to reveal his true identity, and Luffy answers by stating his full name along with a declaration that he’s the one who will surpass him and become the king of pirates.
Kaidou attacks him with his Kundali Dragon Swarm and says how their battle is burning everything below them. Thousands of the Straw Hat’s allies are trapped there who will burn to death.
Luffy doesn’t seem to mind the fire and says that he left everyone else in-charge downstairs and all he needs to do is defeat him.
Their fight rages on, and the fire keeps getting out of control. The Straw Hats and their alliance try to put out the fire but to no avail. Moreover, several of their prominent commanders like Zoro, Sanji, Kid, and Law are extremely injured and scattered across the Skull Dome.
This is when Raizo tells Jimbei about his plan to put out the fire. He explains how he used his jutsu to store water that he obtained from Zunesha. He creates a large tube, and Jimbei directs it towards the fire, instantly spreading relief across the burning dome.
Meanwhile, Yamato warns Momonosuke that Onigashima is about to fall. She explains how Kaidou is getting weaker, and so are his flame clouds. The only way to save the island is if he creates flames clouds that are strong enough to make Onigashima float.
As the chapter ends, Yamato exclaims how Momonosuke is the only one who can save the island from crashing onto the Flower Capital, and Luffy springs towards Kaidou, announcing that Onigashima is going to fall.
