1. Chapter 1009 Raw Scans, Leaks & Spoilers
Raw scans for Chapter 1009 of the One Piece manga have been released. Chapter 1009 is titled “Hell.”
Chapter 1009 focuses on the fight going on at Onigashima’s rooftop. The chapter starts by showing Kin’emon’s group running into Orochi. With relative ease, they defeat Orochi’s Yamata no Orochi form and move ahead. This segment also shows the start of the heavily expected – Raizo vs Fukurokujo.
The scene shifts to Onigashima’s rooftop, with Kaido and Big Mom heavily dominating the 5 supernova. Kid asks Law to send either Big Mom or Kaido away with his ability. However, due to their strong Haki, Law is unable to move either of them.
Luffy senses an oncoming attack from Kaido and Big Mom called “Hakai.” Zoro blocks it for a moment (causing some injury) to allow others to move out of its way. Luffy and Kaido continue to exchange blows.
In a tag team attack, Law captures Zeus in a metal box made by Kid; Zoro cuts Prometheus; Killer attacks and distracts Napolean. Taking advantage of Big Mom not having any of her companions, Kid and Law push Big Mom off the roof and the chapter ends as she falls towards the sea.
2. Chapter 1009 Speculations/Predictions
Chapter 987 officially kicked off the war on Onigashima. With the declaration of an all-out war against Kaido, Big Mom, and Orochi, Luffy drew a lot of attention to himself. Since there is a lot going on at the same time, it is more than likely that we will see parallel storylines instead of just one.
I. Zunisha’s Arrival
Chapter 1008 showed us a seemingly insignificant detail – Momonosuke knew Luffy’s current status. I believe this is Oda foreshadowing Zunisha’s arrival to Wano.
Back when Jack attacked Zou for the second time, we saw that Momonosuke was somehow connected to Zunisha in a way that he could see through her eyes. Even from so far up, Momonosuke was able to use Zunisha’s eyes to see that it was Jack attacking Zou.
Since Momonosuke is able to see Luffy in action, it is possible that Zunisha is somewhere nearby Wano.
II. New Onigashima
Chapter 997 showed Kaido using his devil fruit ability to lift up Onigashima to ferry it into the Flower Capital. Since the Flower Capital is bursting with joy, if Kaido lands there with Onigashima, a lot of casualties will happen.
It will be interesting to see how the Straw Hats battle against Kaido with the lives of Wano citizens at stake.

5. Chapter 1008 Plot
Chapter 1008 picks up from Chapter 1007’s cliffhanger. We see Oden standing in front of the wounded Scabbards. Oden tries to explain that he is here through Toki’s power. Everyone rejoices and feel motivated by Oden’s request to join him in defeating Kaido. That is, everyone except Ashura Doji.
Ashura sees through this ruse and claims that Oden is an imposter. He reminds Kin’emon that Toki’s power can only send people forward in time, it cannot change the past. Overwhelmed by emotion, he punches Kin’emon out of the way and cuts Oden’s face. No blood comes out of Oden, proving that Ashura was right.
“Oden” takes advantage of this moment and drives a sword through Ashura’s torso. This brings the others back to reality. They figure out that this ruse is being concocted by Kanjuro as he is the only one with the abilities and knowledge to pull this off.
They jump in to attack the impostor, who reveals a vest made of bombs about to burst. In a heroic moment, Ashura pushes everyone else out of the way and jumps off the floor with the impostor. A large blast engulfs them both, possibly killing Ashura.
Kanjuro comes out of hiding to find and kill Momonosuke. The others try to follow him, but are stopped by the sudden appearance of Jack. Inuarashi takes charge and tells the other to leave Jack for him and continue to chase after Kanjuro.
The scene shifts to Orochi, who is still alive and kicking. He is just running around Onigashima and lighting up everything on fire.
This transitions into Momonosuke’s group, which is still on the run. Two things get highlighted – Momonosuke can somehow sense Luffy’s current condition & Yamato expresses interest in taking down Kaido.
In the final segment of the chapter, we see how Luffy’s group is faring up against Kaido and Big Mom. The chapter ends in an epic double spread showing Kaido in his hybrid form standing along Big Mom with the supernova figuring out that they cannot win this fight if they don’t split up the two Yonkou.
