The rumor mill has worked very hard, and now the time to rest has finally arrived. There’s no need to rely on rumors anymore as the two worst kept secrets of the GPU industry: GeForce RTX 3080 Ti & GeForce RTX 3070 Ti, have officially been announced by Nvidia during Computex 2021.
Both the GPUs are based on existing technologies and will be powered by the current-gen Ampere architecture. The GPUs will also support Nvidia’s DLSS upscaling technique, Reflex latency tuning, and ray tracing.
1. Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti
Talking specifically about the flagship GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, it will offer an “incredible leap in performance and fidelity” over RTX 3080. The GPU will join Nvidia’s lineup of expensive, high-end graphic cards.
Nvidia has claimed that the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti is two times faster than the GeForce RTX 1080 Ti. Here is a complete list of specs that this top-of-the-line GPU will house:
Specifications | RTX 3080 Ti |
CUDA Cores | 10240 |
ROPs | 112 |
Boost Clock | 1.67GHz |
Memory Clock | 19Gbps GDDR6X |
Memory Bus Width | 384-bit |
VRAM | 12GB |
Single Precision Perf. | 34.1 TFLOPS |
Tensor Perf. (FP16) | 136 TFLOPS |
Tensor Perf. (FP16-Sparse) | 273 TFLOPS |

To buy Nvidia’s flagship RTX 3080 Ti, enthusiasts will have to shell out $1,199. The card will hit the market on June 3.
2. Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti
Coming to GeForce RTX 3070 Ti, it is an upgraded version of the RTX 3070. If you want an upper mid-range GPU, look no further. RTX 3070 Ti is twice as fast as RTX 1070 Ti and easily overtakes RTX 2070 SUPER too by offering 1.5 times the performance over the same.
Here is a complete list of specs for GeForce RTX 3070 Ti:
Specifications | RTX 3070 Ti
CUDA Cores | 6144 | |
ROPs | 96 | |
Boost Clock | 1.77GHz | |
Memory Clock | 19Gbps GDDR6X
Memory Bus Width | 256-bit
VRAM | 8GB | |
Single Precision Perf. | 21.7 TFLOPS
Tensor Perf. (FP16) | 87 TFLOPS
Tensor Perf. (FP16-Sparse) | 174 TFLOPS
TDP | 290W | |
GPU | GA104? | |
Transistor Count | 17.4B
Architecture | Ampere | |
Manufacturing Process | Samsung 8nm |
The upper mid-priced GeForce RTX 3070 Ti has been given a price tag of $599. It will launch on June 10.
The pricing scheme of these GPUs is far from reasonable, mainly because of the ongoing worldwide semiconductor drought. This shortage has forced companies like AMD to focusing just on their high-end products during these turbulent times.
With AMD hitting the world with Radeon RX 6000 lineup, it’s only fair for Nvidia to reveal some cards of their own to keep the market as competitive as ever.
