Voice actors are the soul of the anime industry. Without these actors, popular manga characters would never find a voice that brings them to life. These Japanese artists’ nuances make their characters so lovable and hard to dub in English.

Shizuka Furuya, popularly known for voicing Nano Shinonome in Nichijou, announced on Saturday that she would return to voice acting.

Furuya had announced her retirement in 2015 after a collision with a truck in a traffic accident left half of her body paralyzed.

In an interview with Animate Times website, she mentioned that people were unaware of her retirement, including her fellow Nichijō voice actress Mariko Honda.

She noted that this was due to her locking her Twitter after announcing her retirement on the platform.
