Initial D might be over, but its legacy still lives on and is popular enough to receive a sequel anime too. Recently, the franchise revealed a successor to this epic series, MF Ghost, and fans haven’t kept their cool since then.
What’s more is that the anime is bringing back the iconic Eurobeat soundtrack, which increased the hype by a lot. However, the fans are more curious about whether we’ll get Initial D easter eggs in the anime.
Worry not, as the latest trailer for the MF Ghost anime has revealed some thrilling cameos from our beloved Initial D characters. The anime is scheduled to begin broadcasting this year, and more details on it will be out soon.
The trailer also features the main character Kanata Katagiri racing through tricky courses on a nostalgic Eurobeat soundtrack. If you notice carefully, the driving sound is very realistic as it was recorded with an actual car.

About MF Ghost
MF Ghost is a street racing manga series written and illustrated by Shuichi Shigeno. It began serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Young Magazine in September 2017. An anime television series adaptation by Felix Film is set to premiere in 2023.
The story revolves around a young and talented Formula 4 racer Kanata Livington who’s trained by Takumi Fujiwara (Initial D’s protagonist). He comes to Japan and participates in street-racing to find his long-lost father.
