Winter calls for films like ‘Home Alone’ and P.A. Works’ upcoming original anime, ‘Buddy Daddies’, based on similar themes. The only difference is that there are assassins and the mafia involved.
Two assassin roommates, Kazuki Kurusu and Rei Suwa are tasked to take care of a four-year-old girl, Miri Unasaka, the daughter of a mafia kingpin. Such a dynamic can only mean a plethora of hilarious situations, as depicted in the anime’s promos.
Aniplex has unveiled the first full promo video for the ‘Buddy Daddies’ anime’s January 2023 debut. The trailer is a compilation of the various troubles that Miri causes for Kazuki and Rei.
It begins with Kazuki dressed as Santa Claus and Miri encountering him and calling him her dad. From there begins the toughest mission that Kazuki and Rei have ever been on while it’s just a fun time for Miri.
Despite being roommates and in the same profession, Kazuki and Rei are too different yet too similar. Kazuki is a man who is running away from love though he has a cheerful personality and is good with women.
Meanwhile, Rei grew up without knowing what love is, as he has been trained as an assassin since childhood. This task to handle a four-year-old might be out of their skill set, and it will definitely change many things for the pair.
Moreover, the franchise has also revealed a key visual featuring Kazuki and Rei with guns in their hands while the former is holding Miri as well. The tagline on the visual says, ‘Starting today, the buddy assassins are raising a daughter.’
