Instead of becoming the story’s villains, these broken souls divulged in not-so-heroic pleasures as a coping mechanism. For instance, the main character Nick became a staunch fan of the idols.
The latest promo video for the ‘Apparently, Disillusioned Adventurers Will Save the World’ anime highlights Nick and his unhealthy obsession with idols.
Nick’s story begins with getting stabbed in the back multiple times, metaphorically. He is accused of embezzlement of money and expelled from his party, only for his girlfriend to break his heart by revealing she was using him.
Lost, broken, and with no hope of getting back up, Nick finds comfort in becoming a fan of idols after Agate, a popular idol, comforts him. Nick spends all his money buying Agate’s merchandise and concert tickets, leaving him broke.
A new key visual featured Nick covered in Agate merchandise like dolls, plushies, glowsticks, and more. The anime is slated to debut on January 10, 2023.

One fine and lucky day, Nick comes across three people just like him with a past of betrayal and misery. The four bond over their trauma and decide to form a party of their own and save the world.

Apparently, Disillusioned Adventurers Will Save the World is a fantasy light novel series written by Shinta Fuji and illustrated by Susumu Kuroi. It began serialization online in January 2019 and is being published as a light novel since September 2019 by Media Factory.
It follows the adventures of Nick, a veteran adventurer betrayed by his party, Tiana, a former noble turned commoner, Curran, a dragon warrior, and Zem, a former priest. These depressed and betrayed people with similar pasts form a party of their own to support their guilty pleasures.
