Be ready to witness the perception about illusionary humanity and destructed moral compass eradicated by taking a sneak peek into the anime adaptation The Faraway Paladin.
It talks about a human boy, William, raised by three dead beings in a post-apocalyptic world. The ironic part about this anime is how the inhuman creatures are not only capable of emotions, but also teach those very concepts to William.
The official Twitter account of Crunchyroll has released an excellent teaser of the upcoming Fall 2021 anime season, The Faraway Paladin. Crunchyroll will also be streaming the anime.
The video gave some serious The Promised Neverland vibes with the priestess Mary (who kind of resembles Mujika) holding a human baby William in her arms.
As mentioned earlier the three undead characters namely The Wandering Sage, The War Ogre, and The Mater’s Daughter will be looking after the wide-eyed baby. Thus, the anime might evoke feelings of righteousness in the fans.
The aspect I loved the most was Mary overlooking the ghostly city with the bright shining sun cast upon the entire land. It could hint at her newfound aim of protecting and cherishing the tiny peach-haired baby.
The disheveled dark-haired guy, shown at the end, offering his glass looks quite sinister if you ask me.
But if we’ve learned anything so far, we know not to judge people by their appearance. So, I guess we’ll have to wait for the anime to release and find his intentions out for ourselves.
I think most of us had a point in our lives when we questioned our identity. So I can empathize with William when he tries to find the answer to his persistent question, “Who am I?”
I mean, his situation is much worse than any other because he literally is the sole human in that land.
I honestly believe that the anime will be a great one following William’s journey to finding himself and becoming a Paladin. We know that the bond between the supernatural family is going to be a heartwarming one. But will they stay together?

The Faraway Paladin is a Japanese light novel series written by Kanata Yanagino and illustrated by Kususaga Rin. An anime television series adaptation by Children’s Playground Entertainment is scheduled to air in October 2021.
William is the lone human in a city of the dead. Born with vague memories of a past life in Japan, he is determined not to make the same mistake again.
But what does that really mean? Raised by a group of the undead, William must discover what circumstances brought him to this city and these people as well as what it means to not just exist, but to live a full life.
