New Mythical Pokemon & Favorite Pokemon Of The Year – Pokemon Day Celebrations

February 27, 1996, was the day when the first Pokemon video game was launched in Japan.

Ever since then, the pocket monster franchise kept expanding into more games, anime, toys, and whatnot and marked its presence on our childhood.

New Mythical Pokemon

Each year, on that day, many special events are held across all Pokemon games and even locally throughout Japan.

This year’s Pokemon day was centered around the Netflix launch of the animated movie “Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back—Evolution.” but that’s not all.

This year’s Pokemon day also revealed a new mythical Pokemon called Zarude. Zarude is a Dark Grass-type Pokemon with the special Ability: Leaf Guard.

Meet Zarude, the Rogue Monkey Pokémon in #PokemonSwordShield!

The vines you see on Zarude’s body are not normal vines, which you see on other Grass-types like Snivy.

Zarude can grow them at will from its different body parts, and they can be attached to tree barks for faster movement in jungles, grabbing food from a distance, and healing wounds.

The sound of Zaruda is demonic, and you don’t want to get near it unless you want that big devil-like claw mark on your face.

Favorite Pokemon of The Year

On the other hand, Google held a poll earlier this month.

Hundreds of thousands of Pokemon lovers voted for their favorite Pokemon. Sadly, it’s not your baby party hat Pichu this time as Greninja topped the voting with 140,559 votes.

About Pokemon

Pokemon, first released in 1996, is set up in a world where humans catch monsters and store them in pocket-sized poke-balls, thus the name Pocket Monsters or Pokemon. They are creatures with an affinity to certain elements and some superhuman abilities related to that particular element.

Revolving around a teenage boy Ashe Ketchum, it takes us through his journey to becoming the most accomplished Pokemon trainer the world has ever seen.
