Almost all of us have grown up with the Transformers franchise. We’ve been to the theatres to watch the films, enjoyed their TV shows, and nagged our parents to buy us toys from the franchise.
The Autobots under Optimus Prime and Decepticons under Megatron have been battling for ages to protect or rule Cybertron and has made earth its arena.
Transformers: War for Cybertron is a trilogy that will take the series back to its origin to show its viewers how these aliens who can transform into vehicles lost their home planet Cybertron.
In June, Netflix announced that the first of the trilogy titled “Transformers War for Cybertron: Siege” would begin streaming from July 30, 2020, after its COVID-19 induced delay.
With the show getting closer to its premiere date, Netflix released a new trailer for Transformers: War for Cybertron-Siege on its YouTube channel yesterday.
The trailer teases viewers with action-packed visuals and features Cybertron in the last days of the war. It shows Optimus Prime in doubt of his actions and asks, “Is war really worth it?”
Transformers War for Cybertron: Siege will have six 22 minute episodes, and Netflix described the series as:
“TRANSFORMERS: WAR FOR CYBERTRON TRILOGY: SIEGE begins in the final hours of the devastating civil war between the Autobots and Decepticons.
The war that has torn apart their home planet of Cybertron is at a tipping point. Two leaders, Optimus Prime and Megatron, both want to save their world and unify their people, but only on their own terms.
In an attempt to end the conflict, Megatron is forced to consider using the Allspark, the source of all life and power on Cybertron, to “reformat” the Autobots, thus “unifying” Cybertron.
Outnumbered, outgunned, and under SIEGE, the battle-weary Autobots orchestrate a desperate series of counterstrikes on a mission that, if everything somehow goes right, will end with an unthinkable choice: kill their planet in order to save it.”
The series is being animated by PolygonPictures, who had previously animated the franchise’s popular shows Transformers Prime and Transformers: Robots in Disguise. It is also being produced by Rooster Teeth.
