Netflix’s CGI Quest Leads to Faithful Yet Refreshing Monster Hunter Anime

Monster Hunter is a thrilling game series where you masterfully study your prey, make plans for an ambush, and strike, but when the prey becomes the predator, the most you can do is run for your dear life.

If you are up for the challenge, video games are the perfect pitch for you, but if you want to experience the thrill without smashing your controllers, Netflix might have something in store.

Netflix has announced that Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild will be launched on the streaming platform on 12th August 2021. The key art and the main visual of the film were also revealed.

The trailer faithfully dives deep into the Monster Hunter world. It borrows heavily from the video game series, mainly the relationship between nature and the plethora of the races that depend on it.

In this adventure, we will follow Aiden, a hunter who has appeared in Monster Hunter 4, better known as “Excitable A-Lister.” Aiden sets off on a quest to save his village from the Elder Dragon, which is bent on destroying everything (duh).

Along the way, Aiden will team up with pro Hunters from the guild led by Julius to devise a plan to stop the dragon. The trailer does a beautiful job translating the gameplay into spectacles for the film.

Though some dialogues might sound tacky, believe me when I say “they are half the charm of the series.”

Netflix also revealed the information of the characters that are set to appear in the CG film. The most notable one being Nox, the talking cat better known as Neko.

Even if Monster Hunter is sometimes so over the top that it blurs the line between tacky and cringe, the series is still quite famous, and the Netflix adaptation is an excellent addition to it.

If you are a Monster Hunter fan, be sure to give the flick a chance.
