In chapter 2 of Naruto: Sasuke’s Story, the thief who had asked Sasuke’s help to run away from the Tartar Observatory earlier that day is killed by Meno. The guards seem scared of Sasuke as they know he is strong.
The prisoners wonder how Zansul tamed such a ferocious creature. Sasuke thinks Zansul might be the summoner and Meno, his summoned creature, and the summoning technique might be different from those in The Land of Fire as it requires a massive amount of chakra.
Sasuke’s Genjutsu does not work on either of them, which shocks him. Zansul is revealed to have glass eyes.

Chapter 3 Speculation
Sasuke’s Genjutsu does not seem to work on the Meno, and Zansul is shocking for him and the viewers. Zansul has glass eyes which might be why Genjutsu does not work on him. But why does it not work on Meno?
I guess Sakura might be present in the upcoming chapters as Jiji had mentioned a new beautiful doctor to be present in the infirmary and that she is single.
The custom followed by the couples in The Land of Redaku about the rings might be pointing toward Sakura being present there.It takes massive chakra to summon a creature like Meno for a long time. How is Zansul able to summon Meno? The mystery behind Meno and Zansul might slowly be revealed in further chapters.

Recap of Chapter 2
The prisoners and Sasuke are shocked that Meno killed the thief who tried to escape. The prisoners wonder how Zansul even trained such a dangerous creature. Zansul arrives and threatens them.
Sasuke’s cellmate Jiji approaches him to say hi. Sasuke warns him to start working as guards come. Jiji feels that it is better to freeze to death while working to build a base for a telescope than to be killed by Meno.
Jiji is happy when his blister is busted as he will get to meet the new female doctor, who is supposedly single, as she does not wear a ring on the fourth finger of the left hand, which is a custom married couples follow in the Land of Redaku.
The guard arrives, and Jiji is frightened. But surprisingly, the guard does not make any move on them. Jiji concludes that the guards are scared of Sasuke.
Sasuke’s cellmates are playing a dice game using bait. One of them invites Sasuke to play with them. At first, Sasuke rejects them but then joins them soon afterward. Sasuke bets a gem made by using Earth Style: Stone Luster technique while asking for a favor if he wins.
Sasuke wins, which is very obvious. He asks them a favor to cover for him while he is away from the cell. The cellmate begs him not to go as it is risky for the cellmates.
Sasuke guesses that Meno is a summoned creature and Zansol, it’s a summoner. It’s a question if Zansul has enough chakra to summon Meno for such a long period or if it differs from the summoning practiced in the Land Of Fire.
Sasuke meets Meno on the way and fights it. Sasuke’s Sharingan does not seem to work on Meno, which shocks him. He tries to avoid any traces of a fight. While fighting, Sasuke cuts off Meno’s right claw.
The next day Sasuke is stunned to find Meno’s right claw intact. Just then, Zansul arrives and asks Sasuke what he is after. Zansol seems to know that Sasuke cut off Meno’s right claw.
Since Sasuke is caught, he plans to use Genjutsu on Zansol and ask him a few questions. To his surprise, Genjutsu does not work on Zansol either. That is because Zansol has glass eyes. He warns Sasuke and leaves.
