Sasuke and Sakura head off to the crater lake in Chapter 6: Part 2 of Sasuke’s story. They prepare to get the ultra particles and Sakura takes out the Star Lines Card. Looking at the Dragon card, Sasuke realizes the meaning behind Zansul’s mysterious underground room.
They are able to get their hands on the ultra particles but Sasuke tells Sakura to head back to the observatory because of Zansul’s plan as the earth shakes and a huge amount of dragons fly out.

1. Chapter 7 Speculation
Sasuke has figured out Zansul’s plans but it’s a bit too late since the ancient dragons are already revived. It is highly likely that since Orochimaru has once been to Redaku and stolen important research, he may have some hand in their current situation. In the next chapter, Sasuke and Sakura will try to save the inmates and confront Zansul.
They may have a hard time with Zansul since he has Meno, who is not affected by genjutsu. The chickens and the fossils in the underground room points to Meno being a revived beast by using the Impure World Reincarnation, which means he has a summoner who controls him.
Sasuke’s victory will depend on whether he can override the commands given to Meno or not.

Sasuke goes to the infirmary at night to take Sakura and they both head towards the crater lake. Sakura comments on its beauty and how befitting the name “The Sky That Fell to the Earth” is. Sasuke wishes that Sarada could have seen the view too.
After a while, Sasuke asks Sakura if she wants a real ring from him to which she replies she used to but she isn’t sure if it will be ideal for her hands because of her daily chores and missions. Sasuke wistfully tells Sakura that it saddens him a bit when he comes back from a long mission and notices the little changes in Sarada or Sakura.
Sakura tells him that he gets what he means since he can see the wrinkles on him too. He surprisingly asks Sakura if he really has those and she laughs. They lovingly hold each other’s hands and Sakura assures Sasuke that he has nothing to worry about.
Ready to obtain the ultra particles and get back to the village, Sakura takes out the Star Lines cards. Sasuke notices a card with a lizard and is puzzled about it. Sakura tells him it’s not a lizard but a dragon and a meteor. In ancient times, the place was full of draconic beasts but they went extinct when a meteor crashed onto Earth.
Sasuke remembers Penzila’s book about the fossilized skeletons and the mysterious underground room with chickens and rocks and comes to the realization that the inmates are actually made to dig dragon fossils. The chickens have to be a part of the jutsu as well.
Sakura carries out the hand signs and a bright light is released from the lake within which lies a container with the ultra particles. Just from touching it, Sakura can feel its huge amount of chakra.
To Sakura’s surprise, Sasuke tells her to head back to the observatory and not the village. He starts telling her that he has figured out Zansul’s plan, and at that moment the land surrounding the institute shakes. A dozen or so dragons emerge and Sasuke notes that Zansul has revived them with Edotensei.
