That date has also been named Hero Day, a new real-world celebration inspired by the show’s world of pro heroes.

When and Where to Watch

This is the first real look at the final season, and it will feature actual scenes from the upcoming episodes. It’s not just a logo or teaser text; it’s a glimpse at the beginning of the end.

The Story So Far

The final season of My Hero Academia picks up right where Season 7 left off. The war is still raging. Heroes and villains are locked in one last battle that decides the future of society. Deku is on a collision course with Shigaraki, and everything the series has built toward is finally coming to a head.

Season 8 will cover the final stretch of the Final War arc, including the resolution of the fight between All Might and All For One, as well as the conclusion of Deku’s own path as the last wielder of One For All.

How Much Will Be Covered?

The anime is expected to adapt the rest of the manga through to the very end, including the epilogue chapters that show what happens after the dust settles.

One final chapter, 431, was only published in the collected manga and not in Shonen Jump. It hasn’t been confirmed if the anime will include it, but fans are hopeful. That chapter offers a softer, more satisfying conclusion and it would be a shame to leave it out.

A Long Road Comes to an End

My Hero Academia began its anime run back in 2016, and the manga started even earlier in 2014. What began as a fun superhero school story quickly evolved into something much deeper. It’s about legacy, society, trauma, and what it really means to be a hero.

Now, over 10 years later, both the manga and anime are nearly complete. Seven seasons, four movies, countless fights and heartbreaks and now one final season to wrap it all up.

What to Expect in the Trailer

Fans are expecting to finally see more of the long-awaited Deku vs. Shigaraki showdown. There’s also unfinished business between All Might and All For One. We might get a first look at how these fights will be animated, and maybe even a brief glimpse at the post-war world teased in the manga’s final chapters.

If the teaser sticks to form, it won’t give too much away. But it’ll be enough to get fans talking and counting down the days to October.

A Final Season Worth Waiting For

My Hero Academia has meant a lot to anime fans over the years. Whether you started back in Season 1 or caught up recently, this last season promises to bring everything full circle.

The trailer drops in just a few days. The story ends this October. The wait is almost over.

About My Hero Academia

My Hero Academia is a Japanese superhero manga series written and illustrated by Kōhei Horikoshi. It has been serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump since July 2014, with its chapters additionally collected in 37 tankōbon volumes as of February 2023.

It follows a quirkless boy Izuku Midoriya and how he backed the greatest Hero alive. Midoriya, a boy who has been admiring heroes and their ventures since the day he was born, came into this world without a quirk, where almost everybody is born with one.

On one fateful day, he meets All Might the greatest Hero of all time and discovers that he was quirkless as well. With his diligent attitude and unwavering spirit about being a hero, Midoriya manages to impress All Might. He is chosen to be the heir to the power of One for All.
