Gripping Judo Anime ‘Mou Ippon!’ Receives New Teaser Prior Debut

Anime and manga have their own way of romanticizing every theme it touches upon. Only in such literary adaptations will you see a heavy and sweaty sport such as judo getting glorified so refreshingly.

Popular judo manga ‘Mou Ippon!’ will give you a glimpse into the lives of middle-school students who have dedicated their lives to this sport.

Mou Ippon! is all set to receive an anime adaptation in January 2023. Studio BAKKEN RECORD is animating the wonderful manga.

The joy of judo is hidden in every nook and cranny of Mou Ippon! and it shows how some middle school girls bond over it. In the latest trailer, you will be introduced to the four primary characters of the series:

The video begins with Michi’s last match in middle school. She loses against Hiura Towa, a girl she has never seen before, but instead of animosity, they both start respecting each other.

Michi had hoped she could quit judo after middle school, but Hiura and her friend, Sanae, made her realize how much she loved the sport. I mean, who doesn’t love that adrenaline rush of a ground-shaking ippon?

Anna Nagumo is another character who is from the kendo club and intends Michi to join it in vain.

A gorgeous new visual shows Michi, Hiura, and Sanae sleeping on the train, probably after an exhausting session. Nagumo is utilizing this chance to snap their silly pictures.

About Mou Ippon!

Mou Ippon! is a manga series by Yu Muraoka that debuted in the Weekly Shonen Champion magazine in October 2018. It received an anime adaptation in January 2023.

The series begins by showing how Michi, Towa, and Sanae, three middle-school girls became friends due to their love of judo. While Michi wanted to leave the sports, the other two reminded her of the feeling of ippon. Together, they constitute the judo club in their school.
