Raised by Wolves S2: Becoming Too Human to Spell Doom for the Droids?

“I feel things. Impulses.” says Mother as she walks over to a gun and loads it. This scene in the Season 2 teaser trailer of Ridley Scott’s Raised by Wolves lays a foundation for the sequel.

HBO Max has released a two-minute clip of Raised by Wolves Season 2, and it does a great job of hyping up fans without revealing much.

The trailer starts with Mother’s (Amanda Collin) voiceover foreseeing their future—“Androids can change, just like human beings.”

Mother and Father’s priority is protecting their human children, at whatever cost. If they thought the atheist society would be a paradise, the trailer proves that it’s actually the opposite.

We see trouble brewing up between the Mithraic and the atheists in montages. A rogue Marcus (Travis Fimmel) also unleashes his wrath everywhere, wanting the Mithraic to be the last one standing and bring “purity.”

Bodies are being dragged around, a masked man beating a human till there’s blood everywhere, robots being covered in gooey substances, and a painting of a snake (which is the only representation of Mother’s snake-baby) are all the little Easter eggs sprinkled around the teaser.

Fans are again in love with the panning shots with the deserted landscapes, swift changes to the environment, scenes that emphasize the pain, and more. Scott’s direction after House of Gucci, The Last Duel, and of course, the first Raised By Wolves, has set high expectations.

The trailer ends with another impactful voiceover by Mother, saying, “Perhaps we’re becoming too human.” Looking at how hurt Mother and Father get with their parental instincts rising through the roof, they definitely seem like they are.

Raised by Wolves Season 2 will premiere on HBO Max on February 3, 2021.
