Moriarty the Patriot Episode 23: Release Date, Speculation, And Watch Online

Moriarty the Patriot episode 22, titled “The Two Criminals,” has been released this week. 

In the last episode, Sherlock is introduced to Mary, Watson’s fiance. She asked him to investigate some suspicious events that kept happening to her. Sherlock concluded that Milverton had a part to play in these events.

In episode 22, Milverton had arrived at Sherlock’s place, stating that he has evidence to imprison Mary. Sherlock broke into Milverton’s house to destroy the evidence and murdered him. Thus, he got arrested himself.

1. Episode 23 Speculations and Discussions

The title of episode 23, “The Final Problem Act 1,” is revealed at the end of episode 22. 

From the preview at the end of episode 22, we can confidently say that Sherlock and Moriarty will cross paths again and have a final showdown.

William is impressed that Sherlock is capable of murdering when push comes to shove. However, this makes him even more cautious of Sherlock.

We will see the Moriarty brothers come together to put an end to Sherlock as he is the only one who is somewhat of a threat to their identity. 

Sherlock is in prison for murdering Milverton. Therefore, either he comes out of jail through escaping or with the influence of someone powerful (*cough* Mycroft *cough*).

No, Moriarty the Patriot, is not on break this week. Episode 23 is set to air as scheduled. No delay has been announced.

3. Recap of Episode 22

Episode 22, titled “The Two Criminals,” starts off with Mary confiding in Sherlock and Watson regarding her past and how she encountered Milverton.

Milverton shows up at Sherlock’s home. He provides them with evidence that can imprison Mary. He then requests Sherlock to recover the fortune. 

However, Sherlock decides to break into Milverton’s Brighton estate to obliterate Milverton’s evidence against Mary. 

At the estate, Sherlock and Watson hear multiple gunshots. Watson goes to bring the police while Sherlock breaks in and stands up to Milverton.

Milverton uncovers that he manipulated Sherlock into coming to his estate. He has similarly manipulated William into being there, who he reveals to Sherlock as the Lord of Crime. 

Milverton then, at that point, uncovers that he has organized William’s identity as the Lord of Crime to be delivered in his paper unless Sherlock permits him to capture him.

However, Sherlock has always been suspicious of William’s character since the Noahtic. He also realized that Milverton never kept the proof against Mary. He then turns on Milverton and shoots him. 

Sherlock permits William to leave the estate. However, he vows to get him one day as he sets the manor ablaze. 

Watson and the police show up at the scene. Sherlock admits he killed Milverton and is captured, then guarantees Watson that the proof against Mary is obliterated. 

The episode ends with William revealing to Louis his unexpected amusement of Sherlock resorting to being a killer without much thought. However, he is also confident that Sherlock will be planning to murder him as well.

Moriarty the Patriot is a mystery Shonen manga written by Ryōsuke Takeuchi and illustrated by Hikaru Miyoshi from August 2016. The series has published ten compiled volumes and inspired an anime that released in October 2020.

The story is set in Britain’s Golden age in the 19th century. It Focuses on William James Moriarty, the second son of the Moriarty household, a young mathematics professor. He lives the simple life of a noble along with his brothers Albert and Louis.

But outside school, William is a well-known criminal consultant prepared to wreak havoc in pursuit of his desire “a new world built from the ashes of the old.”
