Sony recently announced that Morbius Blu-ray will be available for purchase digitally from May 17. Physical copies in 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD will be available from June 14. These copies will include many special features and bonus content such as behind-the-scenes footage, bloopers, outtakes and easter eggs.
Morbius is a part of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe. The film revolves around the eponymous anti-hero Dr Michael Morbius, a scientist who gained vampiric powers accidentally while researching for a cure to a rare blood disorder. Jared Leto starred as Morbius in the film.
After a month of the release of the film, Sony has now decided to release the Blu-ray version of the copy. The Morbius blu-ray will include over 30 minutes of extras. Sony recently also released a preview of behind the scenes.
Upon release, Morbius received mostly negative reviews from fans and critics. Yet, it managed to make a profit with a gross of over $150 million in the box office. Sony seems to have future plans regarding the character and plans to include him in future Spider-Man Universe films.
