Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Release and Pre-Load Times Revealed 

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 releases this Friday, October 28. As the release date approaches, players are wondering about the preload and the start time for the multiplayer. Those who have pre-ordered the game already have access to the campaign.  

When does Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer start?  

Similar to the campaign, the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer release time differs from platform to platform as well from region to region. However, everyone will have access to the multiplayer by Friday morning. 

For PlayStation & Xbox players, the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer alongside the full game releases at 4am PT / 7am ET / 12pm BST on October 27. However, for PC players, it will be available to play later at 5 am BST/9 pm PST/6 am CEST/12 am EST) so they’ll have to wait for a bit.  

When does the Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer pre-load start?  

Preloads for Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer are already available for PlayStation and Xbox as well as PC since 10 AM PT/ 1 pm ET/ 6 pm BST/ 7 pm CEST (October 26). If you haven’t pre-loaded the multiplayer yet, now is the best time before it releases worldwide tomorrow.  

The Modern Warfare 2 campaign is already live for players who pre-ordered the game. However, the full game will unlock for everyone on Friday, October 28. For Xbox and PlayStation users, the game will be playable from 00:00 local time on Friday. But PC users will need to wait until 00:00 ET, regardless of the region they are based in.  

As mentioned above, players who have already pre-ordered the game have early access to the campaign. If you’re one of the players who pre-ordered the game, you can play the campaign right now. For everyone else, the game unlocks tomorrow (October 28) at midnight.
