Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid Season 2 Episode 9, titled “There Are Various Reasons Behind It (It’s Full of Elma),” aired this week.

So far, we saw Shouta giving his all to prepare a gift for Father’s day. Meanwhile, Tohru went out of her way to find particular medicines to cure Kobayashi’s flu. Take, and Illulu set on their own little escapade to return an abandoned toy to its owner. 

Elma was tired of being overworked at her job, and she tried to come up with solutions to ease everyone’s burdens. Later, Tohru trusted Elma and asked her to watch over the kids as they went on their little picnic. Finally, Elma expressed her unresolved feelings to Tohru.

Episode 10 Speculations and Discussions

Episode 10 is titled “Kanna’s Summer Break (Broadcast In Two Languages!?)”

Tohru and Elma have rekindled their friendship and have gone back to how they were in the past. 

Not just them, all the other dragons dealt with their respective issues and got through them.  

Judging from the next episode’s title, I’m sure we’re in for a lighthearted episode. I hope to see Kanna being the cute little toddler that she is and make everyone smile.

We will get to see how Kanna spends her summer and gauge the perspective of a dragon in its younger years.

I. Is Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid on Break This Week?

No, Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid is not on break this week. Episode 10 is set to air as scheduled. No delay has been announced.

Recap of Episode 9

Episode 9, titled “There Are Various Reasons Behind It (It’s Full of Elma),” starts with Elma feeling overwhelmed by all the work assigned to her.

She then decides to do something about it. She prepares a proposal to change everyone’s work dynamic after analyzing the work environment.

The higher-ups reject it. Elma still does not give up and comes up with a more detailed proposal, which is also dismissed.

Even then, she does not give up and uses her clairvoyance to thoroughly examine everyone and come up with a work schedule unique to everyone. 

The higherup, who turns out to be Shouta’s dad, calls for Kobayashi, Elma, and Takiya because they’re Lucoa’s friends. 

He then gets down to business and rejects the thoroughly prepared proposal since it would be unfair to the other departments. 

On one of the following days, Kanna, Shouta, and Saikawa arrive at Elma’s house as Tohru asks her to watch over them as they go on a picnic.

She does a good job for the most part but lets her guard down towards the end. The kids wander on their own, making Elma panic as she knows that Tohru will scrutinize her for this mistake.

Overwhelmed by panic, she turns into her dragon form and calls out to Kanna and the others. Luckily, Shouta uses his powers to render Saikawa unconscious. 

Later, Elma shows up at Tohru’s place and asks her to battle her as she feels a little rusty.

Nonetheless, it is just an excuse to let out her unresolved feelings from the past and clear them out with Tohru.

The episode ends with Tohru and Elma acknowledging each other as close friends and going back to the way they were in the past.

Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid is a Slice of life, fantasy, comedy manga written and illustrated by Cool-Kyou Shinja. The manga began serialization in Monthly Action magazine from May 25, 2013.

It revolves around Kobayashi, a stoic programmer. While on her way to work, Kobayashi gets frightened after seeing the head of a dragon. Staring at her, the dragon immediately transforms into a young girl dressed in a maid outfit.

Introducing herself as Tooru, she reminds Kobayashi of her offer to stay in her home while she was drunk the previous night. Regretting her decision, she agrees to Tooru’s request to work as a personal maidservant to repay the debt for a shelter.
