Star Melissa Rauch Provides Hopeful Update for Night Court Season 3

Night Court actress Melissa Rauch provides an optimistic update on season 3.

The series is a revamped version of the 1984 sitcom, which featured Judge Abby Stone and followed her adventures as she became a magistrate for Manhattan Criminal Court’s night shift.

Night Court season 2 was an expected hit and ended with a wedding and a surprising cliffhanger. Therefore, we can expect season 3 to be a blast as well.

In an interview with The Wrap, Rauch discussed updates and nuances surrounding Night Court season 3 filming.

Although she couldn’t confirm whether season 3 would happen, she revealed that she would be open to reprising her role if a sequel is greenlit. Read her comments below:

I would love to do this show for as long as we possibly can. Being a fan of the original ‘Night Court,’ to get to walk onto those sets every day and to get to work with John, who I grew up loving, and [have] Marsha as a part of this family is really special.

While Rauch hasn’t officially confirmed a third season of Night Court, her interest in expanding the series is surely a positive sign.

Since she and her husband are executive producers, we can expect them to have a say on whether the show gets renewed for the next season.

Moreover, it seems like the writers and show creators are also gearing up for more Night Court. The cliffhanger at the end of season 2 has set the stage for an exciting storyline ahead.

Night Court season 2’s finale was a spectacle to watch as it brought back Marsha Warfield’s Roz, and we saw her wedding ceremony with Loretta.

However, the satiation of Roz’s story completing a full circle was cut short by a major twist for Dan Fielding.

When Abby and her boyfriend attend Roz’s wedding, Stone suddenly has an epiphany and realizes that Dan might be Jake’s biological father.

The plot twist was surprising, but it fits well with the story. Considering Dan’s history, it’s been quite puzzling that he didn’t have any kids until now.

This revelation sets up an interesting dynamic for Abby, Jake, and Dan in the upcoming season of Night Court. Additionally, the show has received decent reviews and kept its audience engaged, suggesting it could return for a third season. Although it’s not yet official, the promising direction of the story and the enthusiasm from the cast and crew are promising indicators for the series’ future.

Got the rare talent to binge an entire show in a single sitting just like that. Although a sucker for psychological thrillers, no bias for any genre when it comes to a good story. A living proof that Netflix and chill is not a myth!
