In Episode 4, we witnessed the major character development of Mio, who grew from an annoying problem child to a responsible family member just within few days.
It seems that Chief’s resolve to protect his new family had inspired him to become a better person.

1. Episode 5 Speculation
This is a knockout tournament, and Chief cannot afford to lose any of the upcoming matches. As we already know, he is aiming for the first prize that will give him enough money to buy the entire amusement park for the immigrants.
However, things will get tougher and tougher from here on. Fighting consecutive matches is a tiresome thing to do, and his last match with Crazy Mamiya has surely worn him out much.
Chief should focus on his defence because what’s the point of appearing for the final matches if he is in no condition to fight. In this battle of endurance, he needs to take each step tactfully.
Meanwhile, the local goons will keep coming in their way and make life difficult for the immigrants. But this time, Mio will be with them to assist and protect his family just like Chief.

3. Episode 4 Recap
In Episode 4, Mio takes all the blame upon himself for the fire that burnt their home. He goes as far as leaving his family behind as a price for what he did to them.
His mother tries to stop him, but it is of no use. Mio comments that it is better for him to die than to live like this. He even admits that he is the one who revealed Nomad’s identity as Gearless Joe.
Later, Joe goes after Mio on his bike and finds him walking by the road. He hasn’t come here to stop Mio but to remind him that he will regret it throughout his life if he leaves. (Just like Joe himself)
He asks Mio to stay a little longer until the tournament ends, for the sake of Chief, who has given his everything for their sake and his dream to build a paradise for them.
The next morning, Chief visits the graveyard and pays respect to his son and wife’s grave. Chief and Joe discuss their tragic past and regrets. Joe realizes that Chief is a mirror image of himself who is trying to move on.
The next scene takes us to the fight between Chief and Crazy Mamiya. Crazy Mamiya is much tougher than his previous opponents and claims that he can even kill Chief.
