3. Episode 5 Recap
The qualifying round “Lift Crystal” of the Candidate Exam commences. Finn, Mash, and Dot are in the worst state as they have only one crystal they can protect to avoid disqualification.
Unfortunately, Finn runs into Carpaccio. He tries to avoid the maniac, but luck refuses to be on his side. Carpaccio recognizes Finn and says that he got into the academy because of his brother.
He finds Finn to be unworthy of fighting and tells him just to hand over the crystal. Finn is reluctant to do so as that will be the end of Mash. However, blood sprouts from various parts of his body, causing him to fall down.
Carpaccio hurts him without even laying a finger. He tells him that fighting back is futile as the difference between their strength is too big. Finn finds the chance to use his magic and changes Carpaccio’s location.
He tries to keep a huge distance between each other, but Carpaccio immediately catches up and brutally injures Finn. He still refuses to hand over the crystal as he can’t abandon his friends.
Carpaccio decides to end it all by killing Finn, but Mash stops him at the right time. He smashes Carpaccio’s head into a wall but notices blood coming down from his head.
Mash hits him again but gets injured himself. Carpaccio tells him that he can’t feel pain as his wand is special. No matter how Mash attacks, nothing hurts Carpaccio.
Carpaccio makes fun of Finn, but Mash says that despite Finn being incapable of fighting or using strong magic, he still can’t allow Carpaccio to make fun of him. Mash starts attacking him rapidly.
A moment occurs when the goddess statue behind Carpaccio (which gives him his power) starts cracking. However, she reveals an even more sinister form of her as she becomes more defensive the more damage Carpaccio withstands.
Mash takes out an iron wand and turns it into a tennis racket. He starts hitting the goddess with a metal ball while dodging large syringes. After a long struggle, Mash wins.
Carpaccio is left shocked by seeing his goddess’s defeat. Mash hits him hard on his head to make him feel pain. Carpaccio falls down. Mash thanks Finn for fighting for him.
Carpaccio starts feeling pain and realizes how much Finn endured for Mash. He accepts that the difference between them is obvious.
