Mash’s fight with Abyss Razor brings them to a new realization in episode 9 of Mashle: Magic and Muscles, titled “Mash Burnedead And The Accelerated Battle.”
Lance fights an opponent that bases his entire worth on his magical prowess, and the ability to beat everyone else, and his entire universe is shattered on being defeated by the Gravity magic user. Meanwhile, Mash struggles against one of the strongest in Magia Lupus.
Abyss Razor was cursed with an eye that made him despise his entire life, even making his parents attempt to kill him in his sleep. While his full battle strength comes from the ability to steal magic, Mash is unaffected.

1. Episode 10 Speculation
Mash has managed to convert Abyss Razor, and he will be friends with him from now on and possibly even team up even if he is a part of Magia Lupus. His next fight will probably be against the big boss since nothing stands between him and Lord Abel.
However, the boss is definitely on a different level than all his opponents. Since he was initially on the losing end against even Abyss, it is doubtful he will be able to defeat someone as strong as Abel, as he has done so quickly so far.

3. Recap of Episode 9
Lance is up against Wirth Madl, who believes in absolute strength overall. He completely evades the power of Graviole using his multiple mud clones, and he needs to crush the real one to make any progress. Seeing his strength, he invites Lance to join Magia Lupus.
Telling him that Adler will hinder his talent and growth, Lance does not take it well, infuriates Wirth further, and calls him second-rate. Sending him into a wall, he manages to land his first attack by using the rubble around to slam into him within the division.
Triggered by the fact that he could hurt him, he takes a potion that allows him to create a giant mud monster that proves his magical prowess. Launching massive attacks at Lance that he easily evades, he is forced to use a more advanced Graviole attack with multiple pillars.
The pillars remove the monster from all sides and leave him standing in the middle, completely shocked at his powerlessness. Starting to find himself worthless for not being able to overpower Lance, he starts getting advice from him about his mentality.
Meanwhile, Mash is on the losing end while being on the slower side for once. Abyss reveals that he has put a device that starts draining magic power on Lemon and that within 30 minutes, she will be completely unable to use magic again and tells Mash to show him his strength.
He launches a massive barrage of attacks at Mash and stabs him throughout his body. However, a final stab through Mash’s gut proves to be his downfall as he clenches his toned abs and traps the sword within, letting him land a clean headbutt and destroys his mask.
Abyss explains that his red eye, known as the Evil Eye, can disable the magic of anyone he looks at, making him a natural enemy of all magic users and despised by society. He uses a Force Field spell and traps Mash within, adding an attack that steals his speed.
Mash hits the ground with all the power he can muster and almost lands a punch on Abyss while in the narrow pit. Stepping on his foot so that he can’t escape, he lands a clean hit to the gut, sends him flying through the force field, and starts battering him.
Trying to match the same speed as him, Abyss finds that Mash’s muscles are outpowering him as he gets toyed with ease with a final suplex into the ground marking his victory.

Mashle: Magic and Muscles is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hajime Kōmoto. It was launched in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine in January 2020 and ended in July 2023, with its chapters collected in 18 tankōbon volumes.
Set in a magic world, Mash Burnedead is a young man who was born without magic. In order to live a peaceful life with his adoptive grandfather, he needs to become a Divine Visionary, a title given to exceptional students from the Easton Magic Academy.
Mash goes to the magic school, despite not having any magic, and must survive by only relying on his muscles.
