Manga Club Will Be Merging With Takeshobo’s Manga Life Very Soon

Takeshobo publishes both Manga Club Magazine and Manga Life Magazine. Taleshobo, Japan’s one of the oldest manga magazine vendors, has been in business since 1972.

Now, it looks like the giant is taking a different path with its business.

Manga Club magazine will merge with Takeshobo’s Manga Life magazine starting next month. So, if you are fond of reading Manga Club, then you might want to switch your taste a bit since some of your favorite chapters will be undergoing migration.

Titles such as Yuka Santō’s Hakata Joshi wa Kishin no Gotoku Ki ga Tsuyoka!?, Tae Sano’s Morita-san wa Mukuchi, and Akira Shinsenji’s Tonari no Seki no Dōkyōnin manga will move to Takeshobo’s Manga Life Original magazine.

Moreover, Nagisa Fujita’s Hinata to Mikasa, Sō Nagimi’s Tourin’ Girl!, and Cake Sakiyoshi’s Toaru Meoto no Nichijo manga will move to Takeshobo’s Manga Life Storia Dash website. Ukatsu’s Nomi Joshi manga will be serialized monthly in Manga Life Original and bimonthly in Manga Life.

In contrast, some titles such as Etsuya Mashima’s Famiresu no Nagai-san (Family Restaurant’s Nagai-san) manga and Kenshirō Morii’s Sakana & Neko (Fish & Cat) manga have ended in Manga Club’s May 2020 issue already.

About Takeshobo:

Takeshobo was founded in 1972 by Kyōichirō Noguchi, starting Japan’s first Mahjong magazine Monthly Mahjong Magazine. Takeshobo yonkoma comics are distributed on the comic distribution website Manga Life Win. Excluding mahjong manga, manga series are published under the Bamboo Comics label.

Manga Life is a manga magazine published monthly by Takeshobo in Japan since the November 1984 issue (published in October 1984). Its original title was Gag da, and the change to Manga Life was made to better compete with Manga Time, a rival magazine published by Houbunsha.
