Both the anime and game will be released in 2022. We’re so happy that it’s not a movie again. *relieved sigh*

The visual shows us Faputa, ‘The Princess of Narehate’ standing on a machine, looking down with a saddened face.

The new season will be called ‘Made in Abyss: Retsujitsu no Ōgonkyō’ (Made In Abyss: The Sun BLazes Upon The Golden City).

The 3D action RPG game will be developed by Spike Chunsoft and will be called Abyss: Yami o Mezashita Rensei(Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling Into Darkness).

The game will be in both English and Japanese and will have a fully-voiced original story that will be looked over by Akihito Tsukushi, the writer of the original manga.

It will be available on PlayStation and for PC. Numskull Games will be providing the physical version in Europe.

The movie called Made in Abyss: Fukaki Tamashii no Reimei (Made in Abyss: Dawn of The Deep Soul) was the last installment of the franchise released in January 2020.

After this, Season 2 was announced but was delayed due to the pandemic.

The upcoming season is expected to pick up where it left off. As the season’s finale events turned dark with a friend’s death and shocking news about Reg, the others should continue to venture deep into the Abyss.

Fans are thrilled by the news but at the same time dreading it due to the dark fantasy theme of the anime.

We’re definitely excited for the good scenes, though, right?

About Made In Abyss

An orphaned girl named Riko lives in the Belchero Orphanage in the town of Orth.

The town surrounds a strange, giant hole going deep into the Earth, which is commonly called the Abyss.

The Abyss harbours artefacts and remnants of a civilization long gone, and is, therefore, the popular hunting spot for so-called Cave Raiders, who undertake arduous and dangerous descents into the mist-filled pit to recover whatever relics they can find.

Some legendary Cave Raiders earn the title of White Whistle, one of them being Riko’s mother, Lyza.

Riko’s longing in life is to follow in her mother’s footsteps and become a White Whistle. One day she discovers a robot resembling a human boy in the Abyss and names him Reg.

Riko and her friends sneak Reg into Belchero and quickly welcome him into their close-knit group.

Sometime later, a balloon reaches the surface from the depths of the Abyss containing pages of discoveries made by Lyza, as well as a message for Riko stating she is waiting at the bottom of the Abyss.

Riko, determined to find her mother, bids farewell to her friends and departs to the Abyss with Reg as her companion.
