The Demon Girl Next Door is an anime of the Slice of Life genre based on a four-panel manga series written by Izumo Ito. Season one of the anime featured 12 episodes, animated by J.C. Staff from July to September 2019.
Recently, it was announced that the manga is going on a 2-month hiatus due to Izumo suffering from autonomic ataxia. Ito tweeted out the news, explaining his ailment and apologizing for the delay in content.
[Notice] About the Town Cad Mazuku Restoration No. 2 will be suspended until the end of the year. Please see the image below for details. I’m very sorry for the concern and inconvenience. #まちカドまぞくEnglish Translation
Ito’s symptoms first started flaring up last month. Eventually, the condition got worse to the point where he couldn’t move his arms or body, suffered from dizziness and headaches. The ailment soon started causing joint pains and even vision problems.
Ito traces this back to inflamed tonsils he suffered from two years ago. When he finally visited the doctor, he was diagnosed with autonomic ataxia. Ito sensei did not publish a chapter last month and has been taking some time off to rest. However, the recovery was not going as well as he expected. Hence, he announced a hiatus till the end of 2019.
We at EpicDope hope sensei recovers fast and takes care of his health moving forward.
