With a climactic fight leading to the end of the Demon Lord and peace to humanity, a once-famous hero quickly meets his downfall after numerous rumors and conspiracies against him. Now reduced to just a shut-in, the reborn Demon Lord finds pity instead of a chance for vengeance.
Initially fueled by rage and excitement to fight the Hero once more and have a chance at the destruction of humanity, The Demon Lord instead moves in with Max the Hero and attempts to bring back any sense of what he once was.
1. Episode 2 Speculation
The Demon Lord has moved in with Max in her reborn form and has already started cooking meals for him. Likely, she is now trying to set him back on the right path and help him regain his former glory or at least some comfort in his miserable life.
She may also bring Zenia to Max’s house to live with them since she is in servitude to the Demon Lord, but with the current state of both the Hero and his house, it may not be an excellent idea. A demon continues to rampage through the heroes on their last leg, but even severely wounded and near death, they continue to fight on as the last hope for humanity. Max, the group leader, is praised for his strength, but the Demon warns him of his rebirth in the future.
However, the Demon Lord is born as a small girl, and Zenia is also present at his rebirth. She immediately starts asking about Max, but Zenia avoids the question entirely, prompting her to use flight magic, meet him again, and announce the rebirth of fear and doom.
Eager to meet Max again, she flies into the room of a shut-in living in a slump. He has aged horribly and lost all of his past strength, and she walks around the room rummaging through all the trash and eventually announces the return of the Demon Lord, but he could not care less.
Max had a life of fame after the defeat of the Demon Lord, but a series of controversial actions and scandalous affairs brought about his downfall. The media loved to spread rumors that painted him incorrectly, and it quickly caught on, and he eventually reached rock bottom.
He still holds a picture of his companions dear to his heart, although he hasn’t seen them for years. Frustrated at his current state, she charges up an attack but quickly gets slammed into the wall by Max, completely knocking her out.
Even with the Demon Lord claiming destruction on this world, Hero Max no longer has any sense of justice for it. Faced with the dark side of humanity and how it brought his downfall, he feels disgusted with the world now. She understands what he’s been through and decides to help him by making a proper dinner after years of junk food, something to raise his spirits for once.
