Three such women, who grew up watching Ojamajo Doremi, come together and help you rediscover the joys of life in adulthood, through childhood.

Last year, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Ojamajo Doremi franchise Toei Animation released the movie, Looking for Magical Doremi, which focussed on various common struggles faced by Japanese women in their daily lives.

The feature film, Majo Minari wo Sagashite (Looking for Magical Doremi), has won the award for the Best Animation Film of 2020 at Mainichi Film Award.

In the race for this award, the movie left behind a lot of big names like Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, Violet Evergarden: The Movie, Josee, The Tiger and the Fish, Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop, and Happy-Go-Lucky Days.

The movie was released in 127 theatres all over Japan on November 13, 2020 and managed to gross over 240 million yen in its domestic run.

The events of the film take place in the modern-day Japan, as three women from different backgrounds paddle through the rough tides of life.

One day, as fate brings them together at MAHODO, a magic shop featured in Magical Doremi, they all bond over having watched Ojamajo Doremi when they were younger.

The relatable events, the unpredictable accidents, and the fateful meetings. The movie is a blend of all, that connects with its audience and leaves them with an indescribable euphoria.
