As of publication, Wednesday has broken Netflix’s record for Most Watched During Debut Week, and Most Watched During Peak Week, along with currently ranking as Netflix’s second-most-watched show in its first 28 days.
Besides this, Wednesday has also ranked #1 in Netflix’s Top 10 list in 93 different countries.

Most-Watched During Debut Week (English)
The first record that Wednesday broke was being the most-watched English show in its debut week, with 341.2 million hours of worldwide viewership.
It made headlines because it broke Stranger Things’ record in the same category. Stranger Things Season 4 is now in the number 2 spot, with 287 million hours of worldwide viewership in its debut week.
Most-Watched During Peak Week (English)
After its debut week, Wednesday has broken yet another record. With 411.29 million hours of worldwide viewership, Wednesday is now Netflix’s most-watched show in any given week.
This record was made during the week of November 28 to December 4. This week is also known as its “peak” week because it has generated the most viewership for the show. If Wednesday gets higher viewership in another week, that week will automatically become its new peak week.
But what’s even more praiseworthy is that not only is this the first time an English-language series has reached and crossed 400 million hours viewed in a week but also that Wednesday has also once again surpassed Stranger Things’ record of 335 million hours.
2nd-Most-Watched in First 28 Days (English)
As of December 14, Wednesday has broken its third Netflix record. With 1,022.19 million hours of worldwide viewership, it has become Netflix’s second-most-watched show in its debut month (28 days).
Previously, the show was number 3 on the list, following Stranger Things S4 (1,352.09 million hours) and Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story (856.22 million hours). It has now taken Dahmer’s place in just 19 days!
Is there a possibility that Wednesday will dethrone Stranger Things in this category as well? There is about a week left for Wednesday to complete its 28-day run, and the gap between the two shows’ records is not that wide.
