Entering his comfortable and luxurious room after making a name for himself at the Academy, he meets a live-in housemaid assistant who pledges her loyalty. However, she also has connections with some hackers who work outside the law and introduces the two.

With the help of the maid’s contacts and intelligence and Kaguya’s hacking skills, Shinohara efficiently manages to win battles one by one and build up his reputation.

1. Episode 3 Speculation

Saionji and Shinohara have entered a mutual allegiance, considering both situations, where lies and deceit are the only way to keep them both on the island and alive. While they maintain a façade in public where everyone watches, only the two of them know the truth.

The next episode will have more challenges in both their paths; since Saionji cannot fight without exposing her lie, it must be Shinohara’s duty to take all the challenges and keep building up his reputation. However, hacking may not cut it as quickly for every single battle.

Eventually, it will be up to just Shinohara’s skills to keep himself on the island, and it may likely be in his next battle with the mysterious foe who has announced his presence in the end.

3. Recap of Episode 2

Hiroto runs into one of the maids, who immediately hide when she first notices that her new master is male. Still, after confirming his identity, she immediately bows and introduces herself as his new assistant. Not only will she be his assistant, but she will also live in the same house, although in a different room.

She makes a fancy meal that surpasses all expectations, and he begins feasting. Next up, she starts explaining the rankings of the students within the Academy, talking about the meritocracy based on stars and how he could rise through the ladders.

Due to his score in the entrance exam, he suffers at a One Star level and will be hindered in all his battles. She introduces him to Kaguya, a hacking expert.

The following day proves an easy victory for Hiroto, and he compliments both of his helpers. His reputation also begins rising with his classmates, who show him around the school, they interrupted by another game request with a much bigger audience this time.

A Three Star is who Shinohara is up against, and he shows an extraordinarily arrogant and cool façade for the audience. Saionji also watches over the match, a 100-meter race, and the trash talk begins between the two contestants immediately.

However, Shinohara has also investigated everything about his opponent and stands against Urasaka’s bike with nothing but his two legs. The countdown begins, and as Urasaka zooms through the track, he uses his Completely Disable ability to take over her defenses and stops her bike, and then walks to the finish line.

Saionji approaches her after the match and expresses her desire to defeat him herself and invites him to a shady café. She explains that the real Sarasa was kidnapped, and she was purely a coverup made to protect her reputation until she returns, which she asks Shinohara’s help for.

In return for her story, he also explains his reason for wanting to stay on the island. The two find a common goal and an ally to achieve their dreams.

4. About Liar Liar

Liar Liar is a psychological light novel series written by  Haruki Kuou and illustrated by  Yukina Funa. The series is set for an anime adaptation.

The story takes us to Academy Island where a student’s rank is determined by the number of stars he/she can collect in a special type of duel called ‘game.’

Sarasa Saionji was the absolute champion of this game with 7 stars, till one day a transfer student named Hiroto Shinohara dethrones her on the very first day.
