Latest Assassin’s Creed Black Flag patch includes a DLC for free

At the end of the last financial year, Ubisoft recorded massive losses. They promised to revamp their approach and increase the number of people working on Assassin’s Creed titles.

The results are showing. Ubisoft is working on 11 Assassin’s Creed titles, including the upcoming Assassin’s Creed: Mirage. There is a massive influx of AC news, and fans could not be happier.

As per Reddit user u/poopieuser909, Ubisoft has added a patch for the PC Version of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag that removes the ability to play the game full screen and adds the Aveline DLC for free to those who did not have it.

The Aveline DLC, released in 2013, starred Aveline De Grandpre, who took on three missions to rescue a recruit from Assassin Creed 3 protagonist Connor.

Because it was a minor DLC with not that much additional content, players did not mind missing out on the DLC. However, the reports by the Redditor will bring joy to those who have purchased a copy of Black Flag.

As per the report, u/poopieuser909 says that the Aveline DLC is included with every copy of the PC version of AC: Black Flag, regardless of whether the DLC was purchased.

It was also mentioned in the same post that the user had the base edition of the game from 2015 and later purchased the season pass.

The Aveline DLC was never a part of the season pass. However, the Freedom Cry DLC was a part of it.

The Aveline DLC was included in the standard Deluxe edition of the game. This means that Ubisoft’s current upgrades essentially bring the base edition of the game up to the standard Deluxe Edition.

Ubisoft is listening to the fans with changes from the RPG-based gameplay in Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla to stealth-based gameplay in the upcoming Assassin’s Creed: Mirage. With Ubisoft’s optimistic stance, things look good, and the future looks bright for the franchise with many more AC titles to come.
