Tsurune is one of the finest coming-of-age sports anime out there. Even with an overload of emotions, the show portrays the sophisticated sport of archery in such a delicate manner that you’re bound to fall in love with it.
With Minato’s beautiful last shot, Kazemai High emerged victorious against Kirisaki High. Fans have been patiently waiting since 2019 to see the consequences of their win and how it affected everyone.
It’s safe to say that their wait is over as Kyoto Animation has finally unveiled Tsurune’s season 2. Titled ‘Tsurune: Tsunagari no Issha’ (Tsurune: The Connecting Arrow), the season is slated to premiere in January 2023.

The key visual accompanying the announcement features Minato, Shu, and a new character Eisuke Nikaidou in a kyudo club room.
I would like to call Eisuke a ‘blast from the past’ for Minato, Shu, and Seiya. By this, you can already guess he’s someone from their middle school days.
To be more precise, Eisuke is Minato, Shu, and Seiya’s upperclassman from Kirisaki Middle School. However, he is now a student at Tsujimine High and a member of its kyudo club.
Judging from the visual, Eisuke seems like a haughty and arrogant guy because he’s aware of his exceptional archery skills. Unlike being all talk, Eisuke seems like the real deal that Minato and the others will have to face next.
Moreover, the next season will be based entirely on making Eisuke step down from his high horse and work harder on himself. Seeing how Minato and Shu are constantly improving, Eisuke will have to do the same if he wants to beat those capable of surpassing him.
If the visual is enough to get fans all hyped up for the new season, just imagine what a full-length trailer could do.
I hope they give us a glimpse or a sneak peek into it soon.
