Episode 11 of Komi Can’t Communicate is the latest installment in the series.

This episode focused on the cultural festival at Komi’s school. From buying props for the maid café to dressing up and serving their customers, we saw Komi and her friends being quite busy.

Tadano, too, is forced to dress up as a maid, embarrassing himself, but Komi reassures him that he looks cute.

In the next episode, the cultural festival will continue. Komi and her friends will tour the school, enjoying themselves as they visit the stalls set up by other classes.

After the cultural festival is over, there will be an announcement for the best class, and it’ll be interesting to see if Komi’s class wins or not. The class will then go to an after-party at the karaoke where they hope to hear Komi sing.

Episode 11 Recap

The episode begins with Komi’s class deciding what their class should do for the cultural festival. Everyone presents various ideas, including maid café, haunted house, musical performance, whack-a-mole, and many more.

All the ideas are centered around Komi one way or the other, making the class erupt into a fight. Finally, Komi expresses that she likes the maid café the most, and hence, the class agrees on the café in unison.

As everyone begins to make props for the festival, Komi feels left out because no one wants to bother her with work. After sitting around awkwardly, a classmate of Komi’s named Kaede invites her to go to the supermarket with her since they were short on craft supplies.

Onemine joins them so that Komi doesn’t feel too uncomfortable around Kaede.

Komi and Kaede become friends when Komi asks her why she invited her and not anyone else. Kaede replies that when she saw Tadano and Najimi having fun with her, she wanted to join them. As they return from the shopping center, Tadano and Najimi spot the three girls smiling on their way back.

The next day, Najimi, Tadano and, Komi step outside the school to distribute flyers about their maid café. Najimi gives them out to a stall over without any hesitation. When it’s Komi’s turn, she gets too nervous.

Tadano advises her to give out flyers at those shops she previously had visited. Although still shy, Komi manages to hand out flyers to a few shops, including her regular salon and the ramen shop.

When only one flyer is left, Najimi walks up to a house and gives the flyer to a lady consoling her baby. Najimi makes a funny face to stop the baby from crying but cannot do so.

Komi smiles at him, and he immediately stops crying. He calls her “Cocco” as a cute gesture, and Tadano and Najimi joke around Komi by calling her Cocco as well.

As the day before the cultural festival arrives, Komi and the other girls prepare onigiri for their classmates as refreshments. Everyone tries to figure out which ones were made by Komi and decide who gets to eat them by rock-paper-scissors.

Tadano eats one, thinking that it was made by Najimi, not knowing that Komi was the one who did. He voices how delicious it is, making Komi blush.

On the day of the festival, the class receives a variety of guests. One of them is a self-proclaimed maid-expert. He notices all the girls, classifying them with various archetypes of maids.

When Komi brings him his food and water, he gets nervous but leaves with satisfaction because he discovered a ‘kuudere’ maid.

After a while, Najimi makes Tadano cross-dress as a maid. Even though the boys express their dislikes, they secretly think Tadano looks alright.

Komi’s mother and brother visit them, mesmerizing the entire class with their beauty. Tadano’s younger sister also visits them but leaves immediately after clicking a picture of maid Tadano and sending it to their mother.

Embarrassed, Tadano takes a seat to rest for a bit. Komi sits next to him and assures him that he looks cute. For some reason, this makes both of them even more embarrassed.
