There is no third category, you either like live-action adaptations or think they are meh. However, it’s always interesting to look at the human forms of our favorite characters.

Most live-action adaptations fail when they try to incorporate more than one arc into the two-hour-long movie. But Kingdom didn’t screw up, the film was great and bagged a full 5/5 rating. Japan’s take on Chinese history was a badass experience for fans, and now, the franchise is getting into a part two.

The official website for Kingdom Live-Action movie announced that a sequel in on its way.

The movie will adapt the Keiyou Campaign Arc (Chapters 48-73) of the manga. It is unclear when the movie will be released but we are expecting it to be Summer 2021.

Shinsuke Sato will return as the director, Kengo Yamazaki will enact Shin, and Ryo Yoshizawa will enact Masamitsu. The original author, Yasuhisa Hara, is in charge of scripts. He also made an artwork in celebration of the announcement.

Kingdom is a Japanese seinen manga series written and illustrated by Yasuhisa Hara. The manga provides a fictionalized account of the Warring States period primarily through the experiences of the war orphan Xin and his comrades.
