The Qin have been able to conscript soldiers from the entire north and east regions, and now the new northeastern division is two hundred thousand men strong. The soldiers are discussing among themselves how some of them have come even from Soukan.
The soldiers come from small cities and are surprised to know that they have two hundred thousand soldiers. The soldiers thought that their chances of joining the war were slim since they were in the north.
One soldier is worried that an army this big means they would have to fight a war that would go on for years. Their captain Shukaku arrives and asks them to look forward to this war since they’d be fighting alongside Ousen and Kanki, two of the six greats.
The soldiers of the north ask Shukaku to become one of the six great generals, and he just laughs. Souhakou, the army commander in chief of the northeastern army, is notified of an attack from the left.
Vice-captain Ji Aga of the Zhao army has decapitated Shukaku. Souhakou surmises that if the enemy is coming from the north, their general must be Roumou. Gakushou of the Seika army says he has a lot of confidence in Kan Saro.
General Souhakou is confused as to how Roumou’s soldiers are so strong, and there are so many of them. Kan Saro says Souhakou only thinks so because the Zhao soldiers are better than his.
They only have a few ten thousand, but they’re superior because they’ve been preparing for this for half a year. Meaning they knew that a northeastern army would be formed, and they would pass through this exact spot half a year ago.
He tells Souhakou that General Li Mu came up with the strategy, and it all makes sense now. Kan Saro tells him that all of them will die here.
